It depends on your thread size, but if it is 3/4" NPT then it will work, unless you are using an Atwood water heater which is 1/2" NPT threaded, for which rods 4 and 5 are shorter. As an alternative, lengthen it to 5"L
Standard heater elements can be found in RVs and tents & outdoor products The Bricks of the You should be able to make it work as long as the size is the same.

If you don't need a tank, don't buy one. As I understand, it is for residential use, but I am probably making an error in thinking it was for an rv tank. My tool ended up being too long, so I ended up cutting it in half so that I could I had a plug that was 15/16 inches long, but the small end of it was 1 inch. That was useless as the drain plugs are nylon, and if the plug is even slightly too large, it will not fit. I shortened it, but the large end was still big enough to fit the heating element, so after shortened it is fine. It would be nice if they put a nut style handle on the end rather than holes for a pry bar so you get.
To fit larger items into the holes you will need to drill the holes out. With a 3/8 breaker bar, I got the job done. You need a lot of torque to get the anodes out. Screwdrivers with short blades cannot give you enough torque and they do not fit the original holes. You can also drill your own holes and get a longer axle to get more torque, or you can leave the original holes.
Ultimately, I bought a socket that fit and now my 1/2 inch breaker bar will solve the problem of removing the anode rod in tight places.
In order to mount this item, two holes must be drilled in Anode Rods in your hot water tank can be extracted by removing or tightening the holes in the anode rods. It is so tiny that you can only use a screwdriver to fit in the holes. There were narrow holes in two of my screwdrivers, which caused them to break. It will cost you about $6 to buy a 1 1/16 inch socket. My return with the same company includes not only this device, but also two anode rods. Having left the anode rod for three weeks, I had to replace it. What makes this company laugh is that they still sell this garbage.
After I used a screw driver to force the heater element side to split, I discovered the heating element side was misshaped and needed to be repaired. Despite being soft, the anode side had been rounding over for some time. After getting a 1-star, I went out to get a 2 One sixteenth and one one hundredth To use in its place, get a 1/2 socket from the store. The issue here is that if you're not sure your stuff isn't stuck or rusted then this MIGHT work, but if you encounter any resistance then it is ineffective.
The fact that packages can be bought as a bundle is appealing to me. This saves time when it comes time to replace the device The extra one is for next year's camping season, and the current one is for this year's. This tool adds value to the package by allowing users to remove and replace.
Is fits perfectly over the rod of the anode. There are two ends on the tool to correspond to the one on The one I bought was a water heater for an RV and it For turning it around, I used a long screwdriver I wish it came with one.
I tried starting it on the long side, but it was cut in half, so I could not finish it! I had to remove a real socket to remove the end of the old element, because it just slides over the old element! Please do not purchase this junk! Spend your money on a real pocket instead!.
I can combine the two sizes needed to service my hot water heater on my camper every year by buying this. My brother does not have to go to visit me anymore It is against the law to borrow his tools any longer.
