With a hose diameter of 3/8" and brass fittings, it fits those of a typical water system, and it can be used outdoors in the rain, snow, and sleet.

The pressure should be relieved

The purpose of my purchase was to use it in my RV, as I have two fittings, one on either side of my RV and a third for rinsing the sewer line, so wanted one that is clean as well. The fitting seemed to work fine, however, I found that you cannot plug the fitting into the line when there is water pressure. I had to shut off the water and relieve pressure prior to plugging in, since one side does not have valves before the fitting.
