Installation can be a bit challenging, and you need to be careful to make sure the springs catch in place on the opening you are covering. Voici a hint The spring should be connected to the mesh cover with one end, the tool being used to hook the other end on but purring the tool on the other end from the top backside, stretching the spring then hooking into the holes on the tool. Instead of putting the tool through the mesh and pushing the spring to catch at a part of the opening, you can simply poke it through the opening. Once you get it, you'll see what I mean. Measure carefully before ordering to ensure that you get the right size. It is better to be a little wider than a little As long as the product is installed properly, it prevents wasps and other creatures from taking up residence in your heater or hot-water.
It might be that you need to purchase this screen if your furnace looks like the one shown. The round opening remains open right up to the top, so insects are still able to enter. This seals it completely. Throw away the springs and the tool, just wrap some safety wire around the loop in the appropriate spot and screw through the screen. To tighten, just twist the wire to hold it in place. The sharp ends of the wire must be tucked in or you will be caught.
I found installing the springs that came with it to be a pain. The install tool was too big for the openings on the screen. After eventually breaking the springs, I gave up. I went to our local RV store and found a kit that had rubber seals for the screens, new springs, and a tool to install them. I installed it in a few minutes and it worked like a charm.
I was going to be able to cover my heat vent with this. Spring length is too long, though. The springs that have been sent are half the size of the ones I need. It still works on my trailer, but I may return if I can't find an alternative spring. I am in the process of searching for one to replace it with, but I am still using it. The springs to be used to connect the different vents would be a good idea.
own an RV, you should buy one of these screens for every exposed vent. Make sure you measure first, though.
I was extremely satisfied with the price. Item was a bit challenging to install on the exterior water heater door of the RV (not by the seller's fault). Since the springs that came with the cover did not work, I had to secure it to the door with zip ties.
My attempts at getting help did not succeed, so I sought the help of others. There is nothing you can do to Whenever the screen is unfolded, the ends of the springs straighten out, making it impossible to hold it You're wasting your time reading this.
Some reviews suggest that you do not bother with the springs included - but don't worry about them. That's what I agree with You could save yourself a lot of time and frustration by using this method. A simple bailing wire will do the trick It's easy to figure out.
