We found out after the fact that the original 2000 pound jack on our cargo trailer was missing When the lower shaft bottomed out and rounded off after leaving a service station, it was bent and ovoid. I bought one for my jack stand. My friend and I recently bought a craigslist trailer with a hollow jack tube that had begun to sink in the ground. We are not sure if it came with a jack tube from the factory, but it was long gone. A clip was included so it could be locked in place. The plate could be slid right on. The bag looks very nice and has held up well. If you need to roll it up, it tucks up nicely. When I occasionally slide my trailer's front aft to hitch it on to my car, this plate does the trick.
The bulldog jack has been enhanced in a super way. It was suggested by others that I drill two small holes in it in order to prevent water from settling on it and turning rusty. The book is highly recommended.
