It might not look too good, but if you put a little effort into it Steps are present at the connection point for the hose. In reality, the measurements are 1 3/16 and 1 5/16, not 1 1/8 and 1 1/4. It takes some effort to put on the hose, as it is a very tight connection. I used 1 1/4 ID Smooth Bore hose. I had to put epoxy in place to keep the hose fitting from coming apart when I attached it to the housing because the hose receptacle isn't properly attached to the housing. It is not very smooth to operate the lock. It almost got sent back to me!.
It works, but the locking mechanism is just another hole in the plastic. There is a catch, however, as the hole runs through the RV, and it is open to the inside. As a result, if any liquid is coming out of the vent, the water will drain through that hole to inside the RV as opposed to running down the side as it is supposed to. I suggest that you pick another design instead of this one. I suppose you might be able to rotate it if you have the space. I am not in a position to take advantage of this, but it is nonetheless worthwhile to mention this as An issue that requires attention.
The wall opening on our Winnebago wasn't the right size, so we had to modify it. It seems to be a good product. There is no room for this new water filler door in the hole where our previous water filler door was. For this to work I think I can use a multi-tool to route out the fiberglass. In order for this to properly adhere to the RV wall, you will need nonleveling caulk (dicor or similar). There is no gasket to seal it. There were no hose clamps on the kit. It was found that the clamps used for the previous hookup were still intact. Rather than replace all clamps and the vent tube, I decided to replace only the vent tube and water tube. Simple job turned into running to the hardware store and spending quite a bit of.
I needed something a bit larger based on the OEM fill. The item worked perfectly, I had to open it a little a larger than expected, but this wasn't hard My security needs have been met and I have what looks like factory-made security.
It needs to be forced by pressure. There is slight interference that keeps the door open slightly. This is not a good design.
It was easy to install and seemed to work well at first. I broke a few keys after the metal lock piece kept getting stuck or loosened over time. The door has only been closed for a few months already, so I have to tape it A product like this would be best suited for people who do not open and close their doors frequently.
It is unlikely that I would buy it This is a very cheaply made product. The trailer can be damaged when water finds its way into it and then this water finds its way into the lock mechanism.
The installation was very easy, and it's a very nice looking replacement part. I was surprised at how accurate the measurements were! The quality of the material is also good.
