The cord is sealed around with a seal, does that come with it?

It is just a cutout with a cover for when the cord opening is not in use. There is no seal.

This is an easy installation. We are going to use it in a generator shed in the event that the electricity goes out.

It is inexpensive but somewhat flimsy

I found it to be satisfactory for my purposes. The hatch works great mounted to a larger hatch door, and as a hatch to a larger compartment hatch. It is thin, so make sure it is securely mounted to the door. If I had the chance again, I would buy one.

There is nothing wrong with the product, it's just that I cannot use it for what I was hoping it would be used To ensure that the product would reach the surface of the camper, the outside rim had to extend all the way to the ceiling.
