Spring provided by the provider is worthless. Easily bendable and quick to rust, they are also easy to break.
In the end, I decided to wrap a wire through the vent to prevent a fall on the road after much time spent getting the springs on. As there was still some play and it was not very secure, I decided to wrap the wire through to ensure that the vent would stay in place.
It is easy to attach and works as it should. It may be a bit challenging to hook the springs with the provided tool, but it does the job. This is something I recommend.
To prevent it from coming apart while traveling through wide open spaces, I used stainless steel screws. That's a great way to do it. A pair of tiny springs is not something I would trust.
It provides extra protection and is easy to clean.
