If you look closely at the image, you can see that it does have a cap. I like the lube; it does the job well. Go to a sporting goods store; I went to Bi-Fold Sports. Mart went to the store and spent $8 on a soft gun case. 00, and put your spring bars in there. It will significantly reduce the amount of clutter in your storage compartment. (Just a word of advice based on personal experience.)

The hitch head has a sway feature, and the bar sockets are torqued to provide side-to-side motion resistance. When you make a turn, a thin layer of lube on the "L" brackets helps to reduce the annoying noise. The contact on the "L" brackets does have some friction, but it's only a small part of it. I used to use grease, but now I use the Equalizer plastic pads that slide onto the lower angle of the brackets and eliminate the need for grease. They are much cleaner and eliminate the noise on their own. The only difference is that you must use drop pins and hitch pins from the past. The newer design, which includes a "flip clip," will not work. The top of the L bracket is thickened by the plastic pads.

Every time we've entered a campground since purchasing our camper last year, we've been the center of attention. However, it is for all the wrong reasons. br>br>Our Equal-Part-Part-Part-Part-Part-Part-Part Part-Part-Part-Part- Every time we hit a bump or made a sharp turn, the hitch popped, creaked, and groaned. I lubricated the ball, hitch head, and tops and bottoms of the sway tension bar sockets after installing the Bracket Jackets. I noticed no difference in sway control when towing with the jackets installed and the lubricant applied. The only difference I've noticed is that towing my camper has become a lot quieter! We drove through the campground this past weekend, and no one seemed to notice us. While I expect that the lubricant alone would have reduced a lot of the hitch noise I was hearing, combining the lubricant with the Bracket Jackets nearly eliminates hitch noise, which is truly amazing. br>br>I think this is a fantastic product and a fantastic purchase, and when it runs out, I will buy it again without hesitation.
In contrast to the grease used in wheel bearings. Why not just use a wheel bearing grease designed for automobiles? Yes, that is possible. br>br> For the past four years, I've been doing it. And it's effective. But, on the whole, zer High Performance Lubricant is the best on the market. This product is lighter and easier to apply than wheel bearing grease. It requires less, does not attract dirt, lasts longer, and is difficult to wash out. When applying it, using the tube is so much easier and cleaner. It's also easy to pack in my kit because of its small size. br>br>I had to carry a larger container of wheel bearing grease and use my fingers to apply it. Every time, this meant a difficult clean up, which attracted more dirt until the hitch was completely filthy. I always seemed to end up with grease on one of my legs after working with the hitch. And, of course, there was grease on my hands. My daughters are no longer averse to towing the trailer. br>br>While results may vary, I strongly advise you to try Equal- For a better experience, use zer's Lubricant.
I honestly do not believe this is any better or worse than any other lube. It has the "Equal-Opportunity" stamp on it. It has an "er tax" added to it, in the sense that it is far too expensive for what you get. It's just lube on surfaces that don't get a lot of heat or movement. The packaging, on the other hand, is a compelling reason to purchase this. I've been towing for a long time, and axle grease containers are filthy and messy, and if you try to transport them on the road, something will always fall on them, knocking the lid off and causing a mess. Axle lube is a vile substance to work with. This, on the other hand, comes in a nice sized container that is secure and can be thrown in a bag without fear of the lid coming off and coating everything in its path. As a result, when my current tube runs out, I will most likely buy another. Simply put, it's a lot of money for a small amount of product.
It's a lubricant that does exactly what it's supposed to. This branded lube doesn't seem to offer anything unique. I admit, I added it to my shopping cart on the spur of the moment, thinking to myself, "Oh, it'll be nice to have a clean, convenient tube with a cap to apply lube with. " Because these tubes don't have a cap, you'll have to throw it in a baggie once you've clipped the end if you want to keep it off the rest of the house! It works fine, but nothing special about it.
Despite the fact that our equalizer hitch is only a few months old, it is extremely loud and stiff. By applying this to the joints as recommended by the manufacturer, it has loosened it up, making it easier to get the bars on and off the trailer. It's also much quieter when turning if you do it this way. Some were added to our hitch ball as well. My big tip is to not put too much on because we thought we'd need a lot and now we have too much and it gets all over our hands when we load the trailer.

I like that it's blue so you can see what's coated and where you might need to reapply lubricant. I don't think I'll need to buy another tube of this for a long time because a little goes a long way!.
This has a great tackyness to keep you focused. I usually use it for an entire towing season, then wipe it off and reapply for the following season. I used it to keep my equalizer hitch from squeaking as well, and it worked perfectly. This stuff is a no-brainer.
