Questions & Answers

Will this work to repair small holes or rips in the awning canopy?

Despite the fact that it was not designed for awning repair, I believe the adhesive backing is strong enough to do the job.

I'm replacing the plywood on my RV's roof, and I'm wondering if I can use this tape to seal the seams between the plywood. On top of that, is there a rubber epdm roof?

It's possible, in my opinion. However, because everything you use with EPDM must be EPDM compatible, I have some reservations. I'm not sure how well it'll adhere to plywood. In practice, if you decide to go ahead, you should enlist the help of another person to apply the tape because it is extremely sticky, and if you touch one part of the tape to another, you will have to cut and discard it. If you are very careful, you can do it on your own.

Do you think repairing the rv awning where it connects to the unit will work? Tearing and sun damage are two of the most common problems. ?

I'm just guessing, but I think it'd work as a patch to stop the awning from leaking, but because it's rubber, I don't think it'd work to keep it in place. Because of sun damage, I had to replace my entire awning. It wasn't easy to do without a helper, but there are plenty of videos that explain how to do it. I used this to cover all of the seams and patch a couple of spots on my roof, and it seems to work well as long as the area is thoroughly cleaned with paint thinner first.

When it comes to cleaning surfaces, many people here recommend acetone. Many others, including epdm manufacturers, advise against using acetone or any other petroleum-based product. Who has the upper hand here?

I was told to clean with 90% isopropyl alcohol so it won t mess up the glue bonding with residue, and so I had to go to a drug store to It was an excellent solution. Acetone, on the other hand, should be avoided because it leaves a residue. If you don't roll hard enough, the glue strip will peal off quickly. Aside from that, it's great.

With a clean finish, you'll see results right away
5/5

Love! Love! Love! It's far superior to liquid sealants. It's simple to use, and the results are immediate. I used it on my Trails West 4 Horse LQ Trailer from 2004. It has a nice, tidy appearance. I'm glad I opted for the 6" wide rolls. My trailer is 31 feet long from nose to bumper, and I used about a third of a roll to finish the job. Previously scraped off existing Dicor sealant, cleaned with acetone as a cleaning agent, and allowed to dry for 30 minutes It's all very sticky. Go slow! I unrolled the eternabond down the length of the trailer to where I wanted it to set, then tore away 5 inches of the protective cover to expose the adhesive, double-checked that everything was lined up, and applied it to the front of the trailer roof, gradually moving back 5-inches. It only took 8 inches at a time to cover my roof bolts. Also used around my living quarters' roof vent and the horse area's vents. Stunning outcomes! I would strongly suggest it. We'll see if we can find any small cracks or leaks in our water troughs. Hahaha! This stuff is incredible! It's also significantly less expensive on Amazon than in local RV stores. Our neighborhood stores demanded between $150 and $200. For this same roll, I'm going to go with 180.

Beech Lane Tape vs
5/5

EternaBond. Two rolls of 4" Beech Lane butyl tape and one roll of 2" EternaBond tape were purchased. By far the cheapest tape is Beech Lane, and I needed a lot more of it- As a result, I chose that path. After using both brands, I've come to the following conclusion: I wouldn't say EternaBond is "better" than the Beech Lane tape because it is "nicer. " " I discovered that EternaBond's plastic backing is easier to remove from the roll, the butyl material is firmer and thicker, and the white material on top is smoother. So, yes, it's a more pleasant experience. The plastic liner on the Beech Lane tape is somewhat difficult to remove from the butyl. Also, the Eternabond tape stayed firmer than the Beech Lane tape in the heat of the day. EternaBond is a very nice program, and I enjoyed using it. I ordered EternaBond because I needed a 2" tape. When all else is equal, however, I prefer the Beech Lane tape's value. If "ease of use" is your top priority, I recommend EternaBond. It can be difficult to remove the plastic backing, especially when it is hot outside. The Beech Lane was a little tricky, but not impossible to navigate. If you're on a tight budget but still want a good sealing tape, the Beech Lane is a good option. Both tapes created a nice, strong bond, and I'm pleased with the results of my RV roof repairs.

You Won't Regret It! This is fantastic! This is fantastic! The TPO roof on our sunroom is flat
5/5

The leak started. We had three roofers come out and give us estimates ranging from $700 to $1000. Repairing it will cost $4800. One of the roofers informed my husband of his suspicions about the source of the problem - the length of one of the seams - So my husband used caulk to repair the damage. The information is still out there. I figured I'd give it a shot and order this stuff, figuring I could reinforce all of the seams. When I went up there to investigate, I discovered five holes where branches had pierced the TPO. I'm not sure how my husband and three roofers missed it, but I covered it with EternaBond (which adheres to the AIR - see below). It's a sticky mess! ) and crossed my fingers while reinforcing the seams for good measure. The next day, we got a half-inch of rain, and presto! no leak! We've had a few good Florida downpours in the last two months - The other day, I got 3 1/2 inches. There is no moisture in the sunroom. I'm a HUGE fan!.

This is an excellent product
4/5

But don't even think about ordering the 6". I'd give it five stars if it weren't for the fact that I ordered the 6" tape and received the 4" version. It appears to be mislabeled, so I could return it all day for a replacement and keep receiving the same incorrect item. If you're looking for a permanent seal for your RV roof, forget about Dicor; this is the ticket. br>br>If you're looking for a permanent seal for your RV roof, forget about Dicor; this is the ticket. I completed all of the seals on my class C and do not anticipate having to do so again. It does not come back up, so be extremely careful when putting it down. Working in smaller sections of less than 10" at a time, peel off the backing as you go. Although it does not appear to be the best, no one sees the roof, and I would prefer to know that mine is completely waterproof.

worth it
5/5

When it rained, a stream of water would run down the side of my 2018 Momentum 395M, which was very annoying. It would run along the side of the building, under the main awning. I tried several times to reseal the gutter, but it didn't work. I saw a video of a man using sealant tape to seal the roof's edge (corner) all the way down the length of the coach, half on the gutter trim and half on the rubber roof. I was a little hesitant because once you put this stuff on, you're not going to be able to get it off without a fight, and if I had to remove it, that would be 43' times two. so. Needless to say, I took my time and carefully considered the pros and cons before making my decision. I discovered that doing it was preferable to not doing it. The thin bead of sealant applied just above the gutter, where it connects to the coach, is a farce. It was cracked all over and missing in some places. Putting adhesive down the length of the roof over that seam, rather than trying to seal it once or twice a year, seems to me to be a better option. Because I live in Western Australia, finding enough dry weather at any given time is difficult; however, I am very pleased with the end result and the quality and ease of use of the Eterna Bond tape.
