It's crucial to break in! Much beefier carrier than stock, massive side gears and spiders, and extremely tight clutches with only minor chatter around corners after break-in. Also, make sure to complete the 500-mile break-in routine, which includes changing the oil (do not use synthetics) and applying the double dose of additive as directed. During the break-in period, the special clutch material wears in a lot, and these tiny particles, combined with the heat, destroy the gear lube (which you want out of there to avoid lapping the ring). in the long run). Within 500 miles, my oil had changed color from honey to a greenish murk, and clutch chatter had increased noticeably. Everything is fine now that I've changed the lube and friction modifier according to the instructions. This is a high-quality unit with a rock-solid foundation.
That's all I have to say about it; I have a 2001 Tahoe with a 6 inch lift, 35s, and 3. 73s. I've gone through three rearends because I keep blowing them out, and this one has been in the truck for nearly two years. It can withstand anything I can throw at it. plus a little more.
A 94 Chevy Blazer 4x4 had one installed in the back. It does exactly what it says on the tin. Your tires will chirp a little around tight turns as you break it in, but other than that, this thing is fantastic. When I step on the gas, both wheels lock up, which is exactly what I was looking for. The bearing and race kit, as well as the shim kit, are both required. If you forget to use the Yukon diff oil additive, your warranty will be voided if you break it.
I recently installed this in a Chevy G20 van to improve winter and off-road traction. After reading several reviews, this appeared to be a great option for a balance of on-road driveability and off-road capability. In addition, I made the decision to re-write To provide a bit more towing power, gear both axles at the same time. The setup and installation were simple, but installing the bearings required the use of a press. Make sure you have a good 5/16" socket or closed end wrench on hand to remove the carrier pin's securing bolt. I didn't, and as a result, I nearly rounded off the bolt head, which was coated with Loctite from the factory. I'm still breaking in the new ring and pinion, but so far, this thing has provided excellent traction. Also super quiet operation, but make sure you use the Friction Modifier Positraction Additive for Limited Slip Differentials and change the gear oil every 500 miles, according to what I've read.
This is something I tow with all the time in my S- When compared to my old open differential, it definitely improved my get-up-and-go. It's a great product that I highly recommend. When it said it would take two weeks, it arrived in less than five days! The quality of the work has left me speechless.
It began to make a noise after a few months of installation. br>I disassembled it to discover that the discs were worn out. Any guarantee would be greatly appreciated. br> If not, can you tell me where I can get these discs? br>Do you have any idea what's going on? Is the product of poor craftsmanship? else?.
The last one has been shattered. There aren't a lot of other choices for this truck. As a result, I gave it another shot. This is not a locker, so if it doesn't last, I'm not going to buy another. The spider gears just blow apart. And it doesn't last as long as OEM.
isn't in the picture. It's a pity that G. isn't in the picture. This isn't used by M in their differentials. Because this Yukon Duragrip is so much better than G. I've installed three of these Duragrip differentials and I'm very pleased with them. I highly recommend Yukon for any upgrade.
