The pinion shaft, not the carrier, receives this crush sleeve eliminator kit. For the carrier, you'll need a completely different set of tools. And what you're referring to are thrust washers, which are a completely different animal.
The spacer's identification number is 35. The shims are 33 mm in diameter and 2mm thick. 6mm ID

Kit for shimming the carrier. For a gm 8, it worked well. My Hummer H3 has six seats. I couldn't find the quantity or thickness of the shims included anywhere online, so I used a cheap caliper to measure them and took a photo to aid others. For my carrier swap, I only needed two shims, but I'll keep the rest of the pack for future projects.
These have mixed reviews. br>They fit my 2013 F150 perfectly. br>I bought them to shim the differential carrier LEFT/RIGHT inside the pumpkin, as described in the product description. br>It appears that some of these were purchased for pinion bearing spacing and other purposes. br>There are two spacer packs included in this kit, each containing approximately 0. In each, there are 340 shims. Each spacer pack includes a 0. 25-inch left and right shim. 050 or 0. One of these, 075, has a lip that can hold a bunch of thin 0. 005 shims are a type of shim that is used in the construction of furniture br>Pick the Left shim, add a few thin spacers, and match it to the Right shim. It appears that a crush sleeve is more difficult to use. With this set, I was able to get the correct preload, but a thousandth of an inch makes a big difference, so it's difficult to get it right. br> It took a lot of trial and error and seemed to take longer than using a crush sleeve, but I believe this is a better long-term solution. If you don't mind extra pinion test fits, I recommend doing this if your original gear set fails due to the crush sleeve crushing a little and damaging the pinion bearings over time. Keep in mind that you'll have to settle for a preload that's somewhere in the middle of the spec range rather than the one you had during the test fits. You can tighten it more, compressing the shims and metal even more to get it closer, but it's so sensitive that you'll end up somewhere in the middle of the range, but not necessarily at the same preload as your good pattern during test fits.
I double-checked Yukon's website to make sure these (SK 30214) were compatible with my vehicle, but when they arrived, they were the type that goes on the inside of the bearing against the carrier rather than the housing. For a variety of reasons, this was extremely inconvenient for me. 1 I had to search the forums for a long time before learning that the older behind bearing style shims could be used safely, 2 I needed to purchase additional bearings to grind down for use as setup bearings, and 3 there weren't enough shims to account for the total thickness of the stock shims, so I had to remove material from the thick stock outer shims and combine them with these inner shims just to get where I needed to be. br>br>For anyone else in my shoes, I'm not sure if the shims listed for the Dana 44 HD are compatible with the non HD axle in the TJs or not, but they "look" like the ones I needed, so Yukon should probably update their parts catalog.
005 shim! Now, let me explain why I gave it three stars. "Wide range of shim thicknesses," according to the description. Six shims are shown in the photo. "Shim Kits from Yukon Gear and Axle ensure you have the correct shims to make the adjustments you need to your differential system," says the product description. I was hoping for a "kit" when I ordered this. ONE was sent to me. 005 shim! To make matters worse, I did not receive two-day shipping; instead, I received three-day shipping. That's one more day my Jeep sat in my driveway, blocking in my car while I waited for a shim that would only help partially. I'll have no choice but to make a double-thickness gasket to act as shims. In a nutshell, this isn't a "kit" of shims; instead, it's a single shim. 005 shim is an absurdly high price for a single shim.
It'll come to you eventually. These kits were recently used to rebuild two rearends. It's a pain in the neck to figure out which shims you'll need to achieve your desired inch pounds of preload. It takes some time and a lot of trial and error to get the right shim combinations for the pinion. But,. Once you get it right, it's very nice, and you'll never have to worry about crushing sleeves again, so it's well worth the extra time and effort.

So I took the risk of ordering without knowing what I was getting, but when I received the Shim Kit I needed to restore the Dana 44 HD rear axle on my WJ 4, it was with great relief and great satisfaction.
