Could someone please tell me how many solenoids a 2001 jetta (wagon) requires? I have a problem with the shifter in my jetta when it ?

There are 2 on/off and 5 modulating switches.

You are often not affected by the shift solenoids when you have this issue.

My shifter wasn't shifting into overdrive until this part was installed. What gave it that effect?

The solenoid in my car caused me a problem. An error code for a torque converter circuit malfunction would appear on the vehicle's dashboard. Increasing the trans temp caused the resistance to be too high. When cold, it is 12 ohms but when driven for ten minutes, it becomes 55 ohms and then becomes infinite. Make sure the codes are correct. One of the problems with O1m transmissions is that the valves and the harness frequently fail.

The 2002 Jetta I ordered this for. While I was somewhat unsure if it would work, the Amazon garage best fit application said it would and it did. My experience was positive as I found it to be much less expensive than in the auto parts store.
