No, there was no handle on it.
It can be washed, but it should be air dried rather than dried in a dryer. It's important to note that it's not designed to clean surfaces; rather, it's meant to soak up water and dry them after they've been washed. Following a thorough cleaning, we use it on the deck of our boat.

All of that would be too much for the boat to handle. This, along with a 9-foot pole, were purchased. I couldn't be more overjoyed! My dry time has been reduced by 80%.
I'm not sure why this is so expensive, but according to my yacht cleaner, it does a good job. There haven't been any glowing reviews or complaints. When my Shurhold handle and scrub brush were stolen, however, I was disappointed when my yacht keeper replaced them with a West Marine that does not telescope down to fit inside our back hatch. We'll be purchasing a new Shurhold, with the West Marine version serving as a backup.
It sucks up a lot of water in a short amount of time. I bought it for our boat, but I also use it to wipe the top, trunk, and hood of my car so I don't have to stretch or walk around it. It holds a lot of water and I would recommend purchasing this one over the thinner (thinner strips) version. I priced it locally and found it to be more expensive, as was the extension, which is very useful. I keep it moist and pliable in a plastic bag until I need it again.

I bought two of them to replace two identical water sprites that had been in my collection for a long time. The old ones appeared to be in good condition and functioned properly, so I assumed. The new ones have made such a difference. They have a much higher water absorption capacity. The upgrade was well worth it.
I wish I'd placed my order sooner. Every morning, I use it to walk around the boat's deck. This is an excellent item.
