I purchased this cable as a replacement for my 1998 Saturn SL1. I am very pleased with it. Changing this part can be quite challenging. Excellent Product and Good Price. The cable delivered right on time, and the cost of $65 was great, especially considering the auto store near me wanted $205 for it. I had my mechanic install it for me, but it didn't line up correctly with my vehicle and came off at the connectors, leaving me stranded on the side of the road while After a little improvisation (twisting the cable and making new, stronger clips) it is now working fine. However, I am shifting gingerly until I am confident I won't lose connection It's all great! Overall, I am satisfied because I did not spend the $205 and possibly receive the same result, and I have a great mechanic who lets me buy parts elsewhere to be installed by him.
It didn't fit the car it was bought for, but I didn't get the chance to try to install it before the return period ended, and it's too late to return it now.
While the process of getting it in is a bit of a pain, once it is done it pushes forward. These Saturn shifters shift so much better then the dealer items did, and they are cheap compared to the dealer items. Only one time it came apart at the shifter, but that was due to the fact that the shifter was not locked down correctly. I have not experienced any issues since then.
