A 91 Chevy K2500 with a 5 has a 5-speed automatic transmission. The transmission is a TH700R4 and the engine is a 7L. As a result of the age of my truck and its mileage (over 300,000), I had a transmission leak that I fixed by replacing the TV cable seal. The cable was also replaced at the same time as I had replaced the seal. As with the cable replacement, it works as well as the original. Installation of the cable was simple, as was the adjustment after it was installed. Ideally, this cable should be changed when changing the transmission fluid and filter, although before you remove the cable make sure you drain out some of the transmission fluid, or you can place a drain pan under the transmission, otherwise transmission fluid will spill out when you remove the cable. I used a zip tie before removing the old cable to route the cable in its original location (do not tighten, the cable must move), and pushed it down until I could reach it from the bottom where I continued to pull it to its install location. I installed the cable and replaced the seal once it was in place.
A complete waste of time. It appears that the cable I received was unraveling from both ends, even though the OEM cable is for my truck. Due to the fact that it was in its original package, I knew it was brand new. AC Delco used to have some meaning, but they have now achieved the same status as In order to return both my cable and seal, I have to take care of it now. It's just another way to waste time.
This 1991 C1500 5 was sold at auction. I measured this cable against the OEM cable and it is identical in length and adjusts perfectly to the original. The first cable I bought was too long and would not adjust. In the case of a 1991 C1500 Silverado 5, I recommend this cable. ENGINE 7L 700R4. TRANSMISSION 7L 700R4. If you need to replace the ruber gasket/seal, order one separately because the cable does not come with a.
There is pretty much no way to operate a 700R4 without this part. It is not good to have a faulty cable in this situation. I've run this cable before on a 700R4 swapped Nova with Holley carb and I've never had a problem.
It fits perfectly on a I installed it on an '88 Chevy Astro with a 700R4 transmission. It was very simple to install and very easy to adjust. If the seal is missing, I suggest you get a new one and install it at the same time. Amazon's system says this seal cannot be installed at the moment.
The 700r4 has to be absolutely right or else you will burn it. A high quality OEM part that is easy to install.
Not a word to say.
GM part that is of good quality.
