In order for me to swap this 12v into a superduty, I had run my engine on a test stand and it began to throw sparks and engagement issues. As it was on a stand, there wasn't a converter allowing it to add strength, but you can still see the video comparison between them. There is ten times more power in the BD. The video is not allowable directly on Amazon or I can't link directly to it. You will find the video on YouTube if you search for "12v stock vs BD flexplate. " This experience makes me never want to install a stock flexplate again.
As long as it doesn't give up, it gets 5 stars. The motor is rated at 1500ft/lbs tq, and I highly doubt that it will work. There is no way I could reach that goal. As soon as my 48RE in a 2004 Ram 2500 started failing at 200k miles, I decided to replace it with a FirePunk Tow Master transmission. Anyhow, since the transmission was out, I decided to install a new Flexplate, As for what I used, it was heavy duty, but not billet, and I haven't had any problems with it. It was mounted with ARP flexplate bolts.
After my third flex plate broke, I got this for my 89 first gen Cummins and it has worked well thus There may be clearance issues with your 727 auto's torque converter if it has the automatic transmission. It was an issue with the spacer, so I cut it out.
