Is this a per-brace price or a price for both braces?

One brace is included in the price.

I'm not sure what bolt size to use for this. My bottom is rusty, and I'd like to replace the rusted ones before removing the rusty ones. ?

Did you ever figure out what size it was? My brace works fine, but one of the bolts has vanished.

Is this something that both sides have to deal with?

Yes, it is applicable to everyone. Both sides have the same rusted out part that needs to be replaced.

Holy cow! Why are these so expensive? Isn't there somewhere else that's less expensive?

Buy one from here for a lot less than you would pay at a GM dealership; I paid a lot more at a dealership the first time, and this here is less.
