I didn't realize it was made of aluminum when I ordered it. I assumed it was a Nodular Iron cover that had been upgraded. The quality of this diff cover is outstanding, and it's easy to see why it's so expensive. It's well-made, and the magnetic dipstick and drain plug are convenient, but I need one for a rig that gets abused offroad, and aluminum won't do. I've already shattered one aluminum diff cover and don't want to have to deal with it again, so I'd definitely use this if my rig stayed on pavement or forest service roads.
For many years, these people have been making top-notch covers with built-in o-rings. The cover has a ring channel (no more dangling stamped gaskets), a magnetic drain plug, and a magnetic dipstick, all with o-rings. ring seals are also available. There's even a probe port where you can plug in a temperature gauge sender to keep track of the temperatures. Stainless steel hardware is included! The only change for Titan XD owners is that the brake line bracket will sit on top of the cover, requiring a small offfset tab to secure it. It should be simple enough. Installed, it looks great and increases the amount of oil available.
This was purchased for my semi-recently purchased semi-recently purchased semi-recent This was the "cherry on top" of the flat 14 bolt that I was going all out on and building from the ground up. The first impressions were overwhelmingly positive. It looked even better in person than it did in pictures. BUTbr>br>I'm not sure if it was just me, but I've seen other reviews on the internet about people complaining about the bolts being too long. Mine would bottom out in the housing before I could even tighten the cover down in that case. So I had to go to Lowes and buy some bolts with the same hex head design and thread size as the ones I had, but they were 1/8th of an inch shorter. That didn't bother me in the least. Each one had 80 different scents. br>br>However, I could be wrong about them being too long; I have a corporate 14 bolt axle from an 87 suburban, so the newer model axles could have deeper bolt holes for all I know. Aside from that flaw, the cover is fantastic! And it's a huge improvement over the original!.
From the, I received my order in a timely manner. Excellent craftsmanship, as described. The seller provided prompt delivery. The only reason I gave it four stars is that Mag- According to Hytec, this isn't a good fit for my needs. br>br>My vehicle is a 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe LTZ 6. This is the correct bolt pattern and size cover for my application, but it does have a sway bar and cross-member. about 1 member The rear diff is 5" away. The Mag- Hytec has a rating of four stars. From the mounting face to the cooling fins, it's about 5" deep. My truck is brand new and has never been modified in any way. br>br>This review is in the NO- category. In no way does this resemble Premier Performance or Motobi Performance. I don't hold them responsible for Mag- because they are only selling someone else's product. Information about Hytec that has been lost.
For the swap I did on my 89 Silverado, I installed it on my 14 bolt. It appears to be quite attractive. Without a doubt, I would recommend it!.
It looks great, and I would recommend it to anyone looking to add a back end cover to their vehicle.
This is a terrible piece of equipment! Increased capacity, stainless bolts, everything was meticulously manufactured, and it looks and performs fantastically. It came with detailed instructions and extra hardware, and it took me less than an hour to swap it out. What a fantastic purchase!.
The installation was simple and straightforward, and all of the hardware is of good quality. It's always a good thing to have extra oil capacity. In addition, the cover is appealing.
