Questions & Answers

Do you have a complete set of both a and g clutch bits? I have cabinets in an old mobile home, and the 5/32 appears to be too small, while the 3/16 appears to be just too big. ?

Only the four sizes listed in our sets are currently available. Les-

These are phillips, which I just received. The phillips image on the side is correct, but the shape of the bit head on the package is clutch. Creating a tangle in the distribution chain?

They were all clutch and worked beautifully when I bought them. it might be the bundle

How do you figure out how big clutch wrenches are?

The Clutch bits are sized to some industry standard, but because they are numbered, they do not correspond to metrics or fractional measurements, in my opinion. When you buy a set of four Clutch bits, you'll have the comfort of knowing that you'll have the size you need for almost any Clutch bit application - Les-

These work in most cases, but they aren't long-lasting
3/5

They are largely successful. After only 5 screws removed, the tool tip began to show signs of serious wear. Since 1987, I've been a certified mechanic, so I know how to work with tools. These were purchased to replace all of the clutch bit screws that came with a vintage aluminum camper that I purchased. (purists may object) I bought the cheap ones because I didn't intend to use them for anything else. I would recommend getting the more expensive ones if you plan on using them frequently. br>I'm going to say it anyway, even though this isn't the best place to do so. When I bought these, I was only about a quarter of the way through the job. At the very least, they were able to remove around 160 screws (barely). Vintage Camper had given me a set that was completely useless. These will probably suffice if you only have a few clutch type screws to remove and aren't looking for a long-lasting bit set. br>br>It's worth noting that there are two types of clutch type screws. One has a knot in the middle and resembles an old-fashioned bow tie. (Or perhaps a piece of individually wrapped candy) There's also one without the "knot" or "candy" in the center. br>These bits will work on both types, but if you have the type with the knot in the middle, the bit with the roundish sort of knot shape in the middle (if you can find one) will keep the screw centered a little better.

Before you go out and buy something, double-check the size of the bits
3/5

If the bit sizes were more appropriate for my needs, I would have given it a higher rating. I'm working on a 1951 Chevrolet that necessitates the use of an 1/8" bit, which is unfortunately not included in this set. I'm guessing the 1/8" bit is a popular size, and metric sizes were probably converted to SAE sizes to encourage American sales. It was only a hunch at the time.

The edges of the bits are razor-sharp
3/5

These bits are ideal for removing and not reusing clutch head bolts. When removing or tightening the bolts on my old GMC pickup, these bits cut into the clutch head. br>Now I'm on the hunt for the right bolts for my restoration.

Screws for jailbreaks and bow ties are particularly useful
5/5

When we were tearing apart the kitchen for a remodel, we discovered a strange bow tie-shaped screw that my husband hadn't seen before, so we had to get these. After doing some research, we discovered that they are crook necked or hail break screws, which aren't commonly used in residential homes, but we saved a lot of time by purchasing these instead of trying to unscrew them with a flat head screwdriver.

Screws on pots and pans can be tightened with this tool
5/5

I'd always wondered what kind of screw was used in certain pots and pans, and now I know. Without a doubt, the investment was well worth it.

This is an excellent set of bits
5/5

I had never heard of clutch bits until I needed to work on an RV and found this set as well as others and only needed it this one time so far and price was an issue so I read reviews and gave this set a try, this set works great I pounded on it with a 16oz ball hammer to force the bit into the old rusted bolt head and with a wrench it broke the bolt free with so pb blaster and the bit is in great shape after 8 bolts This set is going into the toolbox.

3310 Holley These were purchased to go with my Holley 750 dual feed
3/5

It didn't fit the screws as snugly as I had hoped, but that could have been due to the screws.

Drivers nowadays have a hard time finding clutch head bits
5/5

Picquic screwdrivers have recently become my preferred choice. I purchased this clutch set to go with my new screwdrivers from the same manufacturer, and I've already used the 5/32 clutch bit to help rebuild a Holley 4160 carburetor. My purchase was a great success.
