What is the best way to install these pads on a 2wd Traxxas ?

You are right. A bandit, a stampede, and a 2wd Slash are on my list. All three can be used with these pads.

Does this look like real carbon fiber, or is it dipped in it?

It's compressed carbon fiber, I have it in my 2WD slash, and I've beaten the crap out of it and the pads hold up great. I've had them installed for over 3 months with daily abuse and have had no problems with them.

This will fit the Is model 4908 the third model in that series?

You should be able to use it.

THINK OF A CIGARETTE FLOODED WITH gasoline that burns up in a matter of seconds

It wouldn't be worth it to spend your money on me. Alternatively, you can instead go for the stock rebuild kits or buy a new slipper clutch since they are not that expensive. This clutch is for the slipper clutch in my Traxxas 4X4 VXL. The batteries I use are only 2S. When I got the kit I was super excited and got everything ready to go for a test run on flat surfaces. I didn't even get halfway through the battery before it started slipping, even at 3/4 throttle on a flat surface. After I tightened the rope a little, I went back out and it did the same thing again. I initially thought maybe they were just broken and that was normal, but then after I loosened it a little it had the same exact result. Yesterday marked one week since I received these parts, which I installed, and now my slipper clutch is fully tightened. I can now turn the spur gear on the spur gear without any effort at all. Let me emphasize that all of my driving was done on FLAT PAVED ROASES.

The following update is from a couple of months ago. It took me until just recently to use my Erevo moded since I also have my Xmaxx Since I missed my Erevo, I have just started using it again. I'm having trouble with mine. It slips too much for those of you who think it kinda slips. The brushless RCs I have running in perfect condition are 7 brushless and 3 nitro. I know what I'm doing and I know how to replace them, so yes I can do that. I have no idea if it was a bad batch.

Upon fitting per Traxxas instructions, the clutch failed to operate after 2 minutes and had to be re-adjusted. Run two is a repeat of run one. I picked up the clutch cover and found carbon fiber fibers on the inside of it. At least half of what they were when they began is now gone from the pads. The result has not impressed me. The Traxxas Slash VXL is a 2WD lipo battery with 3 cells and 4000mAh capacity.

It would be great if they worked as well as I'm sure the carvings will outperform the steel but they're holding up but they had just been put in there, so they're just sort of getting into their groove
