I put it on my 2005 Ford F350, which has a 6 cylinder engine. Installing a 7 with a value of 0 is not recommended. Using the Bulletproof Diesel adapter, three fan clutches can be used. It should work, I'm confident.
On the 6, you might be able to work. Because the fan and engine are similar to a 6, we've given it a score of 4. Far as 6. That's seven different beasts! I hope that helps!

My Ford 6's fan clutch needed to be replaced in 2004. I'm glad I bought this kit because it includes a 0 powerstroke engine. To get the thin wrench part around the fan clutch hex shaft, I had to unbolt the radiator top supports, lean it forward, remove the fan shroud, then unbolt the four bolts that hold the plastic Inner Fan air deflector that sits between the fan and the engine; once you lean it forward, you'll be able to get the thin wrench part around the fan clutch hex shaft. To get a little more leverage, I inserted a half-inch breaker bar into the wrench's 1/2" square drive hole at the end of the handle. The other tool in the kit is a hook grabber that you hold on the left side of the fan pulley to keep it from rotating while you loosen the fan clutch pulls—it's difficult to describe, but it fits pretty intuitively into some holes all around the fan pulley's circumference. It's a loose counterclockwise threaded Nut, so Lefty- br>You shouldn't need this tool to install the new clutch; it should just spin on by hand and the reverse engine rotation keeps it snug—heaven help you next time you remove your fan clutch and decide to torque it down with a wrench on reinstall—there are plenty of other accessories and bolts on a 6. 0 that are difficult to reach in the engine bay with the body on, don't make a simple job difficult in the future! This tool set is fantastic for saving time; it now takes me less than 30 minutes to remove the fan. I've had to use it twice now, and it's made replacing a belt and removing engine accessories a lot easier. br>br>One thing to keep in mind: the fan clutch shaft is a snug fit for this wrench. I switched to a 7. 3 mechanical fan clutch using an adapter bolt from Amazon, which was slightly larger than the nut. I had to enlarge the wrench jaws with a file to make it fit, but I think it made it a little easier to get it on and off the fan clutch when it was on the engine. It's some hard metal, so be prepared to put in some effort if you run into the same issue and decide to modify yours.
0L Pwrstroke, but it'll also work with my 2007 5. I'm glad I used my calipers to measure the flats on my Fan Clutch because the wrench that's supposed to fit it won't. After converting my one-inch measurement to a fraction of an inch, I was able to To convert 850" to metric, I knew I'd need a 47mm wrench. The Ford 6 requires a 47mm wrench. 0L Powerstroke engine, which is also compatible with my 2007 Ford F-150. With the 5, you get 150 points. 4L 3- I believe this is an anomaly, so unless you have a Powerstroke engine, you may want to pre-install. Before ordering, make sure you know what size wrench you'll need.
The wrench was extremely useful. I couldn't get the hook tool to work for me, so I used a 12in socket wrench extension instead. I stuffed it into the pulley hole. On top of that, I put a breaker bar. That solved the problem. But without the wrench tool, it would have been a pain in the neck. For extra leverage, I attached a 1/2-inch socket wrench to the wrench tool's end. It was quite successful.
Not just a 6L, but a 3L as well. So I'm giving it five stars because it's exactly as described. It's a little aggravating because everything I've read says that this works on a 7. 3L too. This is only partially correct. The spanner wrench, on the other hand, does not quite fit. I wrapped a ratchet strap around the pulley and anchored it to the other side, then whacking it with a hammer with the wrench. I did use a ratchet to hold the wrench in place while whacking it with a dead blow. br>br>To cut a long story short, the wrench is a size 7. 3L does not have a spanner wrench. The product was exactly as described. The quality is excellent, as is the case with most gear wrench tools.
The pulley "hook" is my only issue with the kit; it takes some patience to get it to work. The clutch wrench itself is extremely useful. I believe it would be better if it were 4 inches longer. The kit, on the other hand, did exactly what it was supposed to do. br>br>While the pulley holder (hook) may break at some point, the clutch wrench is the most important tool.
I'm not sure if I was duped or if I was sold a dud. It's as if it doesn't belong there. Doesn't work with my OE fan clutch nut, and it doesn't work with my 7. It's a 3 nut that won't fit a 7. 3 - Adapter nut with a number of zeros. I'm going to have to get used to driving around with a 6 that's been chopped. Another week for 0 fan clutch wire, but it does advertise free returns.
2003 5 F350 6. 0 - The wrench is spreading, rather than turning the fan nut. When you pull it off, it returns to its original shape, but it's not helping me at all. (Yes, I'm removing the item in the proper direction. ) I guess I'll have to use an impact chisel. Lame.
I traded the truck before I had a chance to try out the tool, but it appeared to be up to the task. On a Ford 6, I attempted to replace the water pump. Without this tool, I would have failed with a score of 0 out of 100.
