On my E60 in 2010, I also encountered this issue. In the end, it was the wiper motor that was freezing at the top of the arc, not the relay.
Fitment checks are available on Amazon make sure your vehicle is compatible I was able to check if it was compatible with my 2000 528i, and it worked well

There is a chance that your wipers are malfunctioning if they stop immediately or do not return to their starting position. I had a 2001 BMW 740il that did this for a few months then stopped altogether, and this relay was the reason. The battery in your trunk should be disconnected. The fuse box for this car is found under the hood beside the passenger Take off the cover and you will see a silver box underneath which is a computer/ecu. Make sure the connectors are unplugged, lift out the ecu, and the relay will be on the top left. Replacing the relay involves pulling the old one out and putting in the new one. Put the cover back on the fuse box and slide the ECU back in place. Plug in the connectors and turn the ignition back on. A 15 to 20 minute break is recommended. I was pleased with the performance of this relay.
It arrived quickly, and my wipers are now functioning correctly. I used the same relay as BMW. It took 15 minutes for the change to occur.
Highly recommend this original BMW part that is almost half the price of replacement from BMW dealerships. The windshield wiper motor relay on my 99 323i with 106,000 miles was a perfect fit and it had to be replaced.

That was the part I was looking for. I would have been charged half what I would have by the mechanic. As of now, everything is working well.
