That is not something I would suggest using it for. They're primarily used to provide light.

This was purchased to replace an outmoded switch box with glass fuses on a Lund Alaskan boat that I'm restoring. This was the final step in the overhaul, which included new lights, bilge, and aerator pumps. I went with the four-gang switch box because it would allow me to add the fish locator. I used it in conjunction with a battery disconnect switch mounted on the battery box to turn off the LED lights that stay on when the power is turned on. I decided that having the lights on would be better for me in low-light situations, and I'm glad I went with this option over the others. This is a fantastic product that I had no trouble installing. When I turned it on, everything worked right away! If you leave your boat unattended without a battery attender, I recommend adding a switch disconnect. br>The price is reasonable.
For what I find, this is your basic switch set up; however, I am still having trouble with customer service and am wondering what I should do, since my order is for the red backlight switches. I started a replacment order and also got a different blue switch in two attempts.
When receiving Amazon electronics, always double-check them right away. I used a 12-volt battery to power this. All of the LEDs and the volt battery worked properly. There are no complaints about the wiring, which is done with spade connectors and wire of reasonable quality and gauge. To avoid overheating, make sure your connecting wiring is at least as thick as the switch panel. To avoid overloading and potential fires, strongly recommend connecting this panel to both a relay and an inline fuse. So far, everything has gone well. The cost was not outrageous. After I connect to my truck, I'll post an update.
This is a fantastic addition and a fantastic way to keep extra lights organized. I have red truck bed lights (for when I need to preserve my night vision), white truck bed lights (for when I can't find the damn beer), and a light bar to frighten Bigfoot away.
It seems to be well-made and appealing.
I'm a seasoned hobbyist electrician who's installed a slew of switches and other devices, and I figured I'd give these a shot. A poor decision was made. Sure, there are tabs to release the female connections, and I used needle nosed pliers and was very careful, but one of the switches disintegrated anyway. br>The other three work fine, but how long will they last? br>I'm going back to Amazon.
