I installed this to run the electric fans on my truck that are rated at four. Approximately 8 amps. In an attempt to use these, I have damaged at least three switches, the switching mechanism under the button no longer clicks on and off. In one case, a fuse blew and the lamp melted. Then they start going after they have acted fine for about 400 miles. We replaced the switch with a different brand and it appeared to work. No one should ever do that.
