The best system is one that is wired to the battery so that you can turn on the lights with a single touch. Your battery won't drain, and it helps keep your settings in place when it's not in use.
In my General I put a rocker switch that could fit any shape or size if you cut out a hole for it but it is the same size as the switches in Dodges and Fords.
I guess you can cut a hole for it, sure, what's the harm?
We make very easy-to-install wiring harnesses at MicTuning.

I also got the switch box from Mictuning, so I just snapped them into it. All I had to do was follow the wiring instructions for the switch and it worked like a charm. It took me two days to run the wires so they were out of the way and not seen by my 5 rock lights and whip. Additionally, I bought extra electrical wire and connectors to make sure that it was done properly. There is one thing I do not like about this switch, which is that the LED light remains illuminated when the switch is As of now, they haven't drained the battery, but the longest I've gone over 24 hours without starting the ATV is 1. If the ignition switch becomes a problem, I will likely hook it up to the ignition. My overall opinion is that this is a great product. *update Having these switches on my 4 wheeler for over 3 months now has been a great addition. It was a review that I wrote. As I hooked my lights directly to the battery, I was concerned that my ATV's battery would drain while it wasn't used. The switches are always illuminated, so I was worried about this. The switch for the rock lights is on the same wall switch as the switch for the Since the beginning of the month, the temperatures have been below freezing. Four days in a row the temperature dipped into the single digits, and I didn't start my ATV for two I was able to start it right up with no problems. This type of lighting does not use a lot of battery power. Nonetheless, if you want to connect it to the ignition, that is fine, but in my opinion, you are not required to do so. Additionally, I would like to mention two things. It was easier than I thought to remove the switch handle from the back since it is only a pin. My jacket caught the pin one time when I popped off the switch. the switch holder back in without any issues. Mictuning makes a switch holder that has already come with 3 switches in it, but for some reason they refuse to change them. It would be difficult for them to do that without opening the sealed packages. Maybe they should sell the switch handle separately from the switch assembly, I'm not sure if they already do so or not. Surely it would find its way to customers for less, and they would buy it to get what they need. The pictures I added can be seen here.
My favorite part of this switch is the lighted rocker switch! It's definitely the 5 pin switch over the 3 pin switch that you want. As far as I can tell, there is one major difference As soon as the device is on, the 3 pin lights up and the 5 pin has a backlight that is turned on by pressing a key. In addition to the lights under the picture, there is another one that comes on when the 5 pin is active. As long as you are using lights, I believe you should use the lighted plug. You might have to fumble in the dark to find the switch if you use the 3 pin switch. Remember to use a relay whenever you are using anything that draws a significant amount of current.
These lights serve as auxiliary lights on my vehicle. Three wires are used for each light, and there are five posts for the switch. For instructions on connecting the light wires and switches, please consult the switch instructions As a result of switch jumpers and the dash panel fuse being blown, I had to replace it. Now, my pretty rocker panel switch lies in its shipping box collecting dust, never to be used again.
A number of small items including the rock lights button was shipped in one package to me. It was not damaged at all but this item, the rock lights button, was not present. I am not sure who to contact or how to contact them? Please send me any information you might have. It was a pleasure to speak with.
These are a product I've purchased several times over the years and have never had a problem. It is also very easy to install.
A switch is destroyed if you do that. Wire plugging and unplugging needs to be done carefully. You can rely on the switches to operate, but they are fragile.
It was designed using a CAD program such as we use to design large industrial structures, and the measurements were exactly the same. Using a fiber optic laser, an extremely accurate cut was made out of the plate. As a result, I'm trying to figure out how to increase the size of the hole without creating a sloppy one.
Looks great and was easy to hook. I have only had it on for one day so I cannot tell you how long it will last. However, I love how it looks in my razor and it is exactly what I ordered.
