How hot is this close when it closes?

My 2003 Ranger with a 4 works fine with it, so I'm not sure. The 6L0 L0 is a fuel efficient engine

What exactly does this sensor do? Does the dash gauge also work with this sensor?

According to what I can figure out, It is 10884. The gauge is designated by AA) in the chart. Another corresponding to the ECU is possible based on the model of the vehicle.

How does this sensor attach? Is it clipped on or screwed ?

Unlike Dorman brand clips, which are trash, do not buy Clip-In clips by Dorman or any other brand

On my 2001 sport, I replaced the thermostat, thermostat housing and thermostat sensors with the 2004-2005 ones This was one of the pieces I needed for the 2005 sport trac version for under $70. Sadly it did not come with the retainer clips to hold it down, but I purchased those from a local dealer for a fraction of the cost.

In any case, it was. Radiator fan control is not all that it's cracked up to be. I needed it for my Explorer since it was one of two temperature sensors I needed.
