It's exactly what I needed for my 1984 Jeep CJ7 t-shirt's reverse lights switch. a 5-speed manual transmission.
I believe the part that this product replaced was made of brass, whereas this one is made of a much less expensive metal (cast, I believe). The "nut" portion of the bolt broke off during tightening, leaving the threaded half in the T5 transmission of my Jeep. I wasn't putting all of my effort into it. Once it was seated, it never firmed up and instead broke off. Dropping the tranny was the only way to get the threaded half out easily. I needed to get the car on the road, so I JB welded the outside half of the transmission body to the transmission body, and it all worked out. If you do decide to get one, tighten it with extreme caution.
The backup lights on the 1983 CJ7 were non-existent. Everything is now in working order.
A backup light switch that screws into the transmission housing is available as a replacement. It took longer to locate the broken original switch than it did to replace it.
This is a great purchase!.
Thank you for your prompt response and the excellent quality of the part.
