It does work, but be aware that the outside edge of the shaft you are going to slide it on must be filed. It is possible for the shaft to mushroom out so that THE switch cannot slide You are likely to break the new switch collar that wraps around the shaft if you force it on. If it is loose in any way, then it will not work properly. This was not mentioned in the instructions.
Original equipment manufacturer part for I have a 2006 The product worked well for my needs and met all my expectations. It's likely that this is the issue you're having with the PRNDL reading on your dash.
I really appreciate the way it worked. My car wouldn't start without being put into Neutral, so I watched a youtube video and installed the middle switch with no problem. Now my car will start as soon as I put the key in the ignition. The only thing it lacks is the guide tap, but other models have them.
I was able to install it in my 2004 Chevy Silverado without any problem. It didn't solve the problem, but it didn't create a new one either. Now is the time to purchase My back hurt after so long lying on it that it took about 2 hours to install. If you're not sure how to start, watch some YouTube videos here . Luckily, I didn't have to drop the front driveshaft.
It fixed the fact that gear selector was not indicated correctly on my dash display. I suspect it's the same for all brands of new parts and getting them to fit properly on the shaft is a challenge. Pull the locking tab, then slide the "locking pin" to the right with a screwdriver to remove the electrical connector from the old part.
A new one was recommended in the service manual as part of some diagnostics with the neutral safety switch. It fit and worked fine. My case involved an indicator on the instrument cluster that didn't fix a problem I was having, but since the one I removed was so old, I decided to keep it installed.
I like how it fits.
I purchased this for my 04 Blazer and it worked perfectly.
