This switch is used to turn on and off the reverse light on my vehicle. In my opinion, General Motors used this switch in a wide variety of applications for a multitude of vehicles. You will probably be able to get it to work and fit if your existing switch looks similar to the one in the picture (except dirty/rusty/greasy of course). Any doubts can be cleared up with a trip to the local GM dealer.
There is a D2209D for full size standard transmissions like a silverado K1500 that is specifically made for the S10 model transmissions, while the D14069600 is for S10 model standard transmissions
In 92, I bought a Chevy K1500 with the manual 5-speed transmission. was a perfect fit for me. There were two options the one that was shorter did not fit mine and the one that was longer did. I wasn't able to use the shorter version.

This is excellent. This K1500 kit was specifically designed to fit my '91 K1500 with a 5 speed manual transmission (5LM60/NV3500). Most importantly, it actually does what it is supposed to do. A similar switch is available from Standard Motor Products this is the one I've been trying to find for a long time now. I decided to revert into parking spots with my NONOP reverse lights carefully after I had given up. If you would like to use this instead of Standard Motor Products, please follow these directions When the ball is depressed, either those do not jumper the pins, or they start jumping current to ground every time the ball is depressed, blowing the fuse in the circuit when that happens. Having made the mating surface of one of the Standard Motor Products units as low as possible at a local machine shop, the ball was now pushed further into the transmission, allowing me to jumper the pins. Months later, the device starts blowing the fuse because the current is shorted to ground. It was an incredibly frustrating experience trying to get the Standard Motor Products units to work in the first place, until I installed this AC Delco switch.
It was my 2000 Sonoma that was having trouble with reverse lights. I had checked the bulbs and fuses and saw that everything was good, I did not even test this because I was certain it was the issue. I installed it easily, perfect fit to the connector, the lights work now. In ten years, I doubt I'll still have this one, I doubt I'll be driving it. My first one lasts 14 years, so I doubt I'll ever touch the second one. You can do this yourself for less than $5 if you choose. A repair shop wanted at least $105. I needed it for inspection, but I ended up saving $90 for a job that took less than five minutes. In the event you need this repair, I advised that you perform it yourself.
It takes about 5 minutes to install. The boom starts Getting the reverse lights to work Tighten the screws but not too much. Once snug, only 1/4 of the total length is needed. It was a great value, a great price and it was an OE part!.
As a sensor, it is great and solved my problem of no backup light, but for the love of all that's good and holy, don't overtighten it when install it. Depending on how it breaks, you'll need to order a new transmission if the threads are stuck in the transmission. My 9mm allen wrench was pushed into the broken piece and torqued to the side until I could slowly rotate until the broken piece could be unscrewed.
I had no problems with it.
The back part of my body had to be replaced I replaced my up lamp switch with this one, and now my reverse lights work.
OEM part filled the void perfectly.
If it blinked when going in reverse, it would be perfect.
