According to everything I've seen, this item is almost identical to the replacement unit I'm replacing, however the threads are not adequate to hold it firmly in place.

There are leaks

Definitely not a good thing. Two days later, it leaks gas. I have no idea why the compressor keeps leaking even when it cycles properly.

The unit leaked in big time right out of the box, so no leak detector was required, but it left a cloud of oil and refrigerant mist from the metal crimped portion
