Questions & Answers

Does this fit a 2011 X5 ?

That might be worth researching in the BMW forums to see if it solves our hard start and long cranking times on our 2009 X5.

Amazon garage mentions that this relay is not compatible with my mini cooper s 2002, although it appears to be the same oem one used in my mini cooper s. Anyone care to confirm if it's true or false?

Made by BMW, the car is a luxury model. It should be possible to match a Bosch relay with green wiring. Comparing part numbers is a good idea.

What is the procedure for installing this? Must I disconnect the battery?

There was no need to and it worked great

Do you think this is the fuel pump relay for a 2011 BMW X5 50i e70 ?

Yes, I believe that is the case. When I installed it in my girlfriend's 2009 BMW X5 e70 v8, it worked fine

I turned the key, but it didn't This worked like a charm! A problem, which was due anyways, with my BMW X5 09 was cold cranking, which was causing my heart to break
5/5

After changing my battery, which was due anyways, the car would crank, but would not start. For my BMW, I had to do this four times before I finally got it to Well, after reading many forums and watching YouTube videos, I discovered it may be the fuel pump relay of my vehicle. My relay is located right in the middle panel in my trunk, next to the fuse box. Is a rectangular unit that is light green in color. While I waited for the item to be delivered. That's what I did. I grabbed the top of the unit, pulled, then reattached it. My email relay came in the mail and I could use it until my email relay arrived. I slid the top off the old relay right away when the new one came in the mail and replaced it I love how it fits. I now have no trouble starting up my girl, Onyx, now! In the event you have replaced your battery, your relay, and at least one filter but you still hear the dreaded "ankankankankank" when you try to start your car. I'm afraid the fuel pump is where the problem lies. Though BMW is recalling some fuel pumps, it is not a cause for concern. To find out if your vehicle is included in the recall, contact BMW customer service.

It's very easy to install and so affordable
5/5

Although I haven't had this installed for very long, only one week to be exact. However, it solved my starting problem. It's very easy to install and so affordable. I have had a problem starting my X5 once the temperature fell below freezing for the past few years. I was having trouble starting my car when the engine would crank but then eventually start. As the issue kept getting worse, I finally killed the When I took my car in to the BMW dealer, all the codes it threw were related to my The issue with it not starting persists even after it has been replaced. Seeing as how this appeared to be a commonly occurring problem, I thought, "why not?" I read these reviews, watched some youtube videos, and learned that this was a pretty common problem. There is only a $20 charge for this part. I might as well give it a shot. A WHALA, TOO! To date, it has been successful for me. It would have been nice to have discovered this before I destroyed my starter, which cost.

An X5 BMW was taken to the body shop in 2009
5/5

This year, we had problems starting with a cold start at about 45 degrees Fahrenheit. This is certainly not cold to me in Idaho, so to think that my car would think this. Finding the fuel relay switch was the cause of the problem after doing research online. After ordering this, having it installed in a minute, the car is once again reliable in the cold.

This repair kit fixes BMWs which will not start, despite cranking endlessly for several minutes
5/5

It's plug and The fuel pump needs to be fixed as the current has been flowing incorrectly. You no longer have to crank without any room. I find it fascinating that the all knowing BMW computer does not know when the fuel pump relay is active, but it does not shut off the I just wanted to mention that the delightful fail-safe works perfectly on my BMW X5. It consists of The worst-case scenario There is a time model fuel pump in the tank, and an external relay that has unsuitable contacts for the task at hand. Fix the problem cheaply and fast for a fraction of what the dealer would have charged.

I hope that's what caused the problem
5/5

A cold start issue intermittently occurred, causing it to keep cranking but not to start. This problem only occurred when it was cold out. I bought it for my 2005 x5. The wheels look great. I haven't tested 8is and don't know whether it's working or not, as it was an intermittent, so it's going to take some time. Nonetheless, the relay looked exactly like the one I pulled out, I mean it's a genuine BMW, so I wouldn't have expected anything else.

After watching a YouTube video, I realized it was due to the relay switch for the fuel pump, so I bought this part. This was a very easy installation and worked like a charm.

A big THANK YOU to God
5/5

The engine on my 2009 BMW x5 would turn on but not start. I did some research on YouTube because my husband was out of time. It told me to wait until he got home before touching the car, but I didn't listen to it. I ordered When it came to me about 5 days after I put in the fuse, my truck was flat, so I needed to jump it. After that, it was fine. The computer worked right away! I waited another hour to make sure, and then A big thank you to God! SAVE TIME AND MONEY.
