The carburetor is from an MTD snowblower I previously owned. Then I found out what carburetor I needed by looking up my model number on MTD's website. Similarly, you'll have to perform the same procedure on your Craftsman only then can you be sure you're selecting the right carburetor.

The snow thrower was bought late summer and by the time we got enough snow to need it, Although it was running, it was never going to keep going unless the choke was all the way on, and even then it would not run Then, on Amazon I happened upon new carburetors that I had been looking for. I tried tinkering with it and worked on it but nothing helped, and I just about gave up on it and was going to sell it at a garage sale. This one appeared to be 99% the same as that one, yet it couldn't get the part numbers to match exactly. The choke lever did need to be changed. In this case, the carburetor works perfectly and the snow thrower operates like it ought to from the start. At this price, it makes no sense to even attempt to fix an old carburetor. A carburetor repair kit of this quality would cost twice as much. There is no question about it. I'm very satisfied with the product.
The following video may assist you You can easily complete the job in less than 30 minutes using specification 12704A). Initially, I was not sure what to do with the gaskets (originals still in good shape). This pack of generic plugs is perfect for most users). I needed to replace the carburetor and spark plug for about $28. It would probably have cost at least $125 to do the job. I urge you to go You'll love it!.
I was the guy who forgot to remove it. I had much futzing around with the old one before I was able to start it. I was unable to get the carb cleaned well enough, and SOMETHING was gunked up in there. In less than 10 minutes, I was able to install the new carburetor via Prime (I had practice from my earlier )
Started on my It is not necessary to make any adjustments. I am done. After ordering THIS carb as a backup, I was ready for the future. The price is good enough to me to want to keep one on hand, to use if I need it in the future. We ordered this one because it was a few dollars cheaper than the Prime one, and it took about a week to arrive.
but The old corroborator was treated with WD40 (another inexpensive option), but it did not work. In spite of the fact that I did not give this item any chance, After two years, I had to replace my Squall 2100 (a crappy snow blower). bought it for $500, and planned to use it for a couple more seasons before trashing it. Crap Troy built with a 00 dollar budget. So far, everything appears to be in order. It's easy to find videos on this topic on Youtube. If you go to YouTube and type in "Squall 2100", you'll find pretty simple replacement.
The fit was perfect and had no need to adjust anything in order to get it running smoothly. I plugged it in, primed it with gas, and it started right It would be impossible for the old one to run without the choke on full all the time. Troy wants 70 points. This carb doesn't pay to replace the old one, and it doesn't pay to rebuild this carb.
Here is the carb I put on my modified craftsman blower! Winter nationals are right around the corner, and I plan on taking home the prize! The sponsors of my race are greatly appreciated! When I pulled the pro series blower for the first time, I was enveloped in a bad mamba jamba! Here's to America!.
It was installed in a craftsman 179cc snow blower I borrowed from my friend last weekend. Despite the fact that it was easier than expected, the carburetor had no intake gasket spacer included with it. Intake gaskets are not metal, as the one I received is not. Do you know if anyone has used the gasket that is included in the carburetor kit, and how well did it Was there anything that went wrong? It would be great if I could use the spacer gasket and place the other one on top.
