Questions & Answers

What is the purpose of this part? I can't tell how it slides on the zerk from the side. There is a limited access zerk on my computer. ?

Despite the Lincoln Lubrication #5883 sliding onto the Zerk fitting from the side, to achieve a smooth grease flow, you will need to hold it tightly onto the head of the fitting.

Are there any grease gun connections that this will fit?

If the threads on the grease gun hose or pipe match those of the 5883, then yes. If your gun fits the 5883 as is, it should work. It is possible to get an adapter fitting if the fit does not exist at your local hardware, big box, TSC, etc. If you refer to the actual Zerk fitting on the item you are greasing again, it is likely to fit, seal, and permit

The fitting in question was made in the U.S.?

Lincoln Lubrication 5883 is made in India, according to information I have.

How do you figure out if this will work with metric grease zerks?

My Yamaha YXZ functions correctly, so yes, it does work.

Exactly what I needed - thanks This item is exactly what was Exactly what I needed - thanks This item is exactly what was Reviewers warned me that the product was problematic, so I was hesitant to get it I had been unsure if it was going to work or not so I had put it on my wish list for a while
5/5

read a review where the user cautioned the user to push it on until it makes a clicking sound before pumping grease. The first time I got one, I didn't want to permanently attach it to my grease gun, so I went to the auto parts store, bought a grease zerk, and attached it that way Whenever needed, I used it as an attachment. Attached are pictures you can see. Anyways, here's a few words Exactly what I needed - thanks I found this to be better than I anticipated!.

I got it to work just fine, thanks! Some may find this fitting problematic, but I'm not entirely sure why
5/5

A zerk fitting (for the idler arm) is tucked under the AC compressor on my 2004 Suburban, and about one more is underneath the radiator. It should be kept at a minimum clearance of 5 inches. My grease gun 1134 Lincoln Grease Gun has a small space, and the standard fitting would not work. It is for this reason that I decided to try this fitting. read through the reviews on this part to get a sense of how folks were finding the fit of the part. Immediately it became apparent that there was a "hot or cold" response to this. Some found it to be fine, while others called it worthless It comforts me when reviews display this type of dichotomy as it signals there is a potential risk in purchasing the item. It's not uncommon for negative reviews to tell the whole When I took this fitting out of the clamshell, the first thing I noticed was that it was covered in some kind of clear, caulk-like substance. If that was a grease coating, a byproduct of the manufacturing process, or a byproduct of the manufacture, I am not sure. To make sure that everything was clear, I cleaned out the sensor with a probe first. On the grease gun hose, I screwed on the fitting and squeezed it to see if it worked. After poking and pulling again, I found that the first stream of grease was thin and I repeated the process several times and It's like watching grease go down the drain. Next, I wanted to see what it did when I fitted. I noticed that grease came out of the sides, as opposed to going into the Zerk, when I first used it for the tight fitting. When I heard that, I thought, "Uh-oh" "Wow, I wonder if those negative reviews are accurate. As I persevered, I cleaned off the fitting and paid careful attention to the way I fitted the end. Putting the mating angle as close to 90 degrees as possible, I pushed it on without much effort and heard / felt a click. The lock has been successful this time. As I held the grease gun tightly to the zerk, at 90 degrees, it did not do that the first time. I then pulled the trigger on my We've been successful! Grease was able to go into the fittings perfectly for 5 Fill the boot with 6 pumps until it is full! I found that the fitting was very hard to remove from the zerk when I went to remove it, as it was tight. These fittings lock on especially tight, much like the standard 1134 fittings. Following a standard fitting removal, I gave this 90 degree fitting a firm tug (while keeping it at 90 degrees) and it popped out with no hassle at all. In the end, we can conclude that What this fitting did was exactly what it should have done. It has been a pleasure to work with the 1134 grease gun, and I am equally delighted I found this to be a great program! It is recommended for tight spot zerks requiring little clearance or above the ground As of now, it has been used on two fittings without any issues. My review of this fitting will be updated if problems emerge with it in the future. My sincere thanks go out to those of you who have read.

Here is something you need to know
5/5

It worked perfectly (got into a fitting on a four-wheeler that was impossible with a standard fitting) and I discovered why some people have problems! I thought the same thing as many others here when I first read the review. There is no grease in the fitting, so it leaks! This piece of jewelry was not fully on, it is very heavy and it takes a great deal of force to lock into place and it is difficult to remove again. The moment you tap it into place and it clicks into place, you will know you're in the right position, so you can put the grease in now!.

I've had no problems with it
5/5

In my 2016 Chevy 2500 HD, I have 3 hard-to-reach zerks that must be replaced. Making them easier to grease is a result of this. In contrast to others who have commented, I pushed each fitting into the zerk until the seal snapped in place and then put 3 or 4 pumps in each. In general, it snapped onto the zerks without too much effort, did not leak any grease, and then was relatively easy to remove. It is hard to think of what more you can ask. ZEROK's use of a zerk placement saves you from biting your nails on the knuckles, and you don't need to curse GM engineers for their zerk placement.

But it's so good for every fitting I need, I use it for almost every fitting
5/5

I got it so I can keep a tight fitting The product is so good that I use it for almost all fittings I have and have bought 3 more for family members and friends. A perfect gift for anyone who can service his or her own gear. There is a high level of quality in Lincoln vehicles. EDITOR'S NOTE If you feel a snap when you slip the fitting across the tip of the zerk, you are ready. If you don't follow these steps, the bag won't The fittings that require more effort are those that are more complex. It would be better to attach the flexible hose to a piece of pipe, rather than just the flexible hose alone. This way, you'll be able to apply the correct force when the device is seated.

In this case, the adapter worked where a generic version had failed
5/5

This is simply awesome. I was able to avoid a major headache as a result of your help. It worked great with this right angle grease adapter! In my 2003 Toyota Tacoma, I found a grease fitting that is inaccessible on the rear driveshaft that appears to be the result of a possible backwards installation of a replacement U-bolt This property was purchased with a joint investment from It is positioned away from the gap and almost straight towards the arms of the driveshaft, creating a straight shot with a conventional straight-drive drill bit It is impossible to use a shot grease adapter or even a needle fitting. Because I just got the truck I have no idea when the last time that the joint was greased, although I am considering removing the entire drive shaft to grease the joint since I just got the truck. This Lincoln slotted right-handed is a gift to me. The user decided to purchase a generic angle grease adapter, not realizing that another family member already had one. This product was manufactured by a manufacturing firm that was affiliated with Advance Auto. I was not able to use the one from Advance as the clearance on the tool was not high enough to accommodate the grease fitting on the truck, and no matter how I tried to angle it, it kept digging into the plastic insert. In truth, when the Lincoln arrived, I had almost no hope it would work as it is almost the same tool as the Lincoln. It was a great surprise when I tried to stick just the bare tip onto the grease fitting and the grease fit really well. Afterwards, my guy and I hooked up to that fitting, and we were able to pump huge quantities of grease into it. The zerk mates tightly with the coupler around the nipple of the zerk, so it didn't leak at all. Thank you for your kind words! My life was made easier by this tool, which saved me a lot of time, effort, This is another example of Lincoln's ability to make grease guns and adapters of the highest quality.
