My readings are higher than 16, so that can't be the case.
You will be able to use it, just make sure the cable is properly connected.
There is no way for me to tell if the field is negative. It must be grounded when you mount this regulator. By means of the mounting bolts, the ground is established. On the inside of your fender, or fire wall, where you will mount this unit, it is best to scrape off the paint where the mounting bolts will go. Every time I mount a bolt, I always put a star washer under it. In most cases, improper grounding is the cause of problems with these types of regulators. It is important to note that the wires on the connector are the same color code as the mopar "factory original" wiring, from the alternator to the starter motor. This should be helpful for you. I just had to do some research and wire. In short, nbsp In the beginning I didn't know much about this, so I hooked it up as instructed in the instructions, and it worked, but voltage jumped around a lot. It is important that you follow the instructions strictly, and make sure you switch the 12v supply to a relay and take the main power from the alternator straight to the relay then to the voltage regulator. By doing this the voltage regulator will see a true voltage, without any fluctuations. I'm very happy with the work you've done.
It is easy to adjust this voltage regulator on my Dodge Cummins engine and I use it on my car.

The fact that it has the pigtail and is adjustable is not enough to buy it. Each of those features is a waste of time. Our regulators failed to stay put without a ziptie so we ziptied the plug to them. A small dial on the back is supposed to "fine-tune" the voltage, but it the fact that two of their main selling points are moot, they are quite competent at regulating.
When I installed the device according to the instructions, I tried adjusting the voltage with the adjustable screw, but the output voltage did not change. The screw didn't move from 11 to 12, so I tried it on the left. Translation for "89V. ". The screw did not change from 11 when I turned it to the right. Translation for "89V. ". I am disappointed.
This is a great app. It failed in a matter of months after I installed it without the adjustment. It's a good one, let's hope it lasts.
It is the only one I found that can be adjusted. Worked fine for me, Dave.
