Buying a rebuilt alternator can save you a lot of money and trouble. The solution I ended up going with was to do just that. In the end, I lost money when I sold the kit on eBay.
My guess is that your Chevy will not be able to use this kit since it is for Chrysler vehicles.
As the replacement rectifier assembly for the larger 120 amp alternator assembly is too big to fit onto the smaller 90 amp alternator frame, this kit will not work with any 90 amp alternator. In case your Jeep has a 90 amp alternator, this kit is not compatible with it. You might be able to use it if you have a 120 amp alternator.

Sadly, none of the items in this kit worked as advertised. The bearings were cheaply made, but they were of good quality, the brush assembly worked well and fit perfectly, and the rectifier assembly looked solid and well constructed. The Denso alternator in my 1998 Jeep Cherokee (XJ) 4 works great. You are null. Is there a reason why only 1 star is given? This is because the rectifier on the machine was junk. The dead - The internals of this sentence have been shortened. Using my Fluke to test every component along the way, except for one, I rebuilt the alternator, replaced the slip ring (commutator) on the rotor, and engineered a new rotor housing all turned out well, It is a It caught fire when the battery and the underhood fuse box/PDC were connected, and I lost an alternator, PCM, and the underhood fuse box/PDC because of my faulty assumption that the new rectifier was good. It is well known that I tested each step throughout that process until I installed the rectifier at the end, and I have been doing this for over 20 years. Caveat Emptor does not change. I am aware that my experiences may differ from yours, but I adhere to this philosophy nonetheless. I'll have to spend an extra thousand on those extra repairs if I buy this nice, high-quality rebuild kit. Compared to $150 for a 'new' alternator, this is a significant savings.
This Chrysler town and country was manufactured in 1998. the original alternator and was changing my spark plugs, so I decided it might be a perfect time to rebuild it. I watched a few YouTube videos and took my time. 1k miles are on the alternator, and the scanner outputs look.
I watched the excellent YouTube video many times and the bearings still made terrible noises. I replaced a bearing and it still made terrible noises. The replacement bearings in this kit are different from the original bearings, and local auto parts stores and bearing stores were not able to find replacements for these bearings. Be sure that the original bearings are kept when you use this kit. After getting a new alternator, I eventually changed the old one.
Larger than the original equipment manufacturer. Using it on my car was a good idea.
I have a 97 dodge grand caravan with it and it works great.
All the items I needed were in the kit. We had no trouble following the instructions. As of now, my alternator is working.
Clearly written instructions make this kit easy to use. These kits have allowed me to rebuild 2 alternators. As of now, one is being used and the other is reserved.
I called the manufacturer, who said the diodes are rated for 160 amps, so it should work fine in my unit despite the description saying it is for a 120 amp alternator. It was easy to put everything together. It wasn't a critical problem, but one aspect of it was different. When you take the parts apart, make sure to take a lot of pictures!.
