Hello,br>This bracket has never been used without power steering. Belt routing would work, but the long run of belt between pulleys could cause belt slap issues. If you have enough clearance, you might be able to use part number 551566-A. 3 as a bracket that only holds the alternator.
Consider a 79- or 80-inch belt, depending on your other accessories.
I have no recollection of what happened. I went to an auto parts store and bought five belts. The one that fit was chosen, and the rest was returned.

The part is both attractive and functional. I'm mostly doing this to assist. The Ac Delco belt part numbers in the description are incorrectly formatted, with 6k in front (6k768). The belt can be routed in two different ways, and the alternator amperage, as well as other factors, can make a difference. I'm using an LS3 water pump (spacing is the same as the trucks) so no spacers are required (you will have to cut the stock accessory bracket), a 160 amp alternator from a 2010 Escalade, and an LS3 tensioner. The truck's idler pulley, as well as the power steering, are all pulled from the truck. For my setup and routing, I used the Gates K061031 belt, which is also very inexpensive in comparison to other options. Because the belt makes more contact with the power steering pump pulley, it has a lower chance of slipping if water splashes up on it from the ground. As an example, take a look at the image below.
This is a fantastic little product, and I'm using it to install a 6. 0 LS into a Jeep Scrambler, where an electric fan required some extra clearance. I'm using the truck's front drive, and I converted the Vette water pump, but the water outlet interferes with the belt routing. The belt now goes well below the water outlet thanks to this well-machined piece. LS conversion items are plentiful at ICT Billet. I also sought advice from their customer service department regarding their water pump spacers, and they were extremely professional and knowledgeable. And- Everything they sell is made in the United States! This is a major victory!.
The upper radiator hose is routed through the front of the water pump rather than the top as it is on trucks. This was just what I needed to move my idler pulley on my 5. Blazer was exchanged by 3L. The fit is excellent, and the operation is faultless. I only wish someone had told me which belt to put on first. I used a Gates K060986 in the end.
