Yes, but they can be adjusted to fit the load. I'd estimate a lift of a couple of inches. They did an excellent job of keeping the truck level while towing.
My set was missing parts for about 2 1/4 ", which I never received.

This is a common problem with early model Tacos from the second generation. I had four young people in the car at one point (3 in the cab and two in the bed), and the bed would bottom out every time I hit a speed bump. I knew Toyota wouldn't fix the problem because my Tacoma was no longer under warranty. So I started looking into it and came across these Hellwig Helper Springs. It took me a few hours to complete the installation, which I completed late at night. I'll admit that I'm a little antsy. The end result is that this truck can now handle the same and heavier loads without bottoming out. She (yes, that's right, "she") is now a dream to drive. The journey appears to be more refined and smoother. When I step on the gas, I notice that the wheels grip better and that there is less body roll when turning. These springs come highly recommended by me. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED BY YOUR DECISION.
My Tacoma's factory springs sagged after I built a light camper. That was a look I despised! These were simple to install and helped to level my truck out. I didn't notice much of a difference in the way things were handled.
There were no instructions included in the package. It's not a huge issue because the installation procedure is fairly self-explanatory. However, one of the U bolts was different from the others, so I had to contact the company. They were extremely helpful in explaining that it was intended to be used near the gas tank to prevent a rupture in the event of an accident. It continues in a sideways motion, away from the tank. That was a clever idea.
These are what I installed on my 2012 Tacoma double cab 4WD. After installing a Leer camper top, the factory springs had developed a negative arch. Helwigs and Bilstein 5100s were installed. We set the front Bilsteins to a 2 inch lift because they were adjustable. The Helwigs, combined with a 1 inch block, resulted in a 3 inch lift in the rear. Everything came together to the point where the truck only has a minor rake. I've improved my ability to carry a load without sagging. The Helwigs are perfect for me. It's far superior to a leveling kit. I was able to keep the off-road performance by combining the Bilsteins.
This kit is for a Toyota Tacoma from the year 2009. Is it for a reason that they are so dissimilar? They're all marked with the same number. One, on the other hand, has a higher arch and longer clamp insets. All of the Ranger outfits were the same. I'm not going to install until I hear back, so the rating is a little early.
If you tow anything, these springs are a must-have because the stock ones sag a lot when loaded. During normal driving, it helps to reduce vehicle squat caused by trailer tongue weight and firms up the suspension feel in the back. When I was stopped and turning before I had the helpers on, I would get a lot of wheel bounce. The rear axle has improved its ability to plant and go.
It gets the job done. Gives the truck a nice lift and prevents rear-end sag when you add a few hundred pounds. Installing it was a breeze.
Installing it was a breeze. Our 2008 Tacoma's handling has improved dramatically as a result of this modification. I can now easily tow an 8000-pound trailer. On the interstate as it climbs a hill, the only thing missing is the engine. I strongly advise you to do so. Installing it was a breeze. The instructions are excellent. Everything appeared to be in its proper place.
