All of the packages were not packaged properly. Shipped in a bag that is torn up. Lower control arm is inside the bag. It lacks the zerk fitting, which is even more important. The product did not meet the description. The lower control arm on the right hand side of this vehicle was ordered as a replacement. Please make sure the package is the right size! Make sure you have access to a crowfoot wrench to properly torque the nut and an Allen key to tighten it! I don't understand this design at all! Because there is no hole in this nut to insert the cotter pin, this cannot be used with a castle nut and cotter Engineers failed to design the project well. As a matter of fact, Moog wants to reduce costs by eliminating holes for cotter pins since it's extra to drill a hole! Do not compromise safety for the sake of saving a few dollars!.
The first time I bought auto parts online I was hesitant but I must say that after purchasing these I saved a lot of time, money and stress. The fit was excellent and it did not require any pressing in. It's been about a week since it was installed, so I'm not sure how well it will work, but so far it seems to be doing well.
In my experience, Moog steering components and suspension components have always proven to work well. We make sure that the quality is on par with or better All the moving parts on my 2005 Silverado's front suspension and steering (except for the torsion bars) were replaced with Moog parts, and I'm very happy with them. All of this was installed myself after I ordered it. A part that I ordered fixed my freaking death wobble, which 3 mechanics could not cure and Chevy told me does not exist. I wish I could tell you which part fixed it, but I was very fed up with trying to find the problem by paying mechanic after mechanic. My total cost for getting everything from Amazon was equivalent to two trips to the mechanic! From now on, the truck will feel as if it came out of Except for those with some mechanical talent, this is not something I would recommend. Don't forget to have your vehicle aligned as soon as you are done. In addition to this review, I've posted it to all the items I ordered via.
The same problem occurred to me as to There was a problem with the ball joint taking grease properly. It is likely that there was sufficient grease in the boot section for the ball joint to work appropriately, but the grease did not flow into the top Unless the boot was greased, it would not be able to seat properly on the steering knuckle (and over time would have fallen apart due to excessive crumpling, twisting, and turning during steering motion). To make the ball joint connection usable, I had to take apart the connection after installation and use a special grease fitting to insert grease from under the joint (wasting considerable It has been pleasing to me in the past to receive Federal Mogul products of superior quality. The fact that they would associate their good name with such subpar products is very disappointing. Future purchases from their brands will be a bit risky for me. I believe that the.
I recommend this lower control arm as a great replacement for the lower control arm on my 2005 Silverado Despite the poor build quality and the rust prevention coating looking really bad, the product is fairly durable and is holding up quite well. Some respondents reported having trouble with the ball joints taking grease, but I never had such issues. I had to grease the ball joint.
I installed it only to discover it did not accept As soon as I called Moog, the representative made a call to find out what was wrong and it was determined the manufacturing line had too tight tolerances in a manufacturing run, which made the ball too tight, preventing the grease from getting into the boot area. It's not a safety issue, they said, and eventually the socket will wear enough to let grease pass through. In view of the fact that the item has been installed, I will not remove it I won't be using any more Moog "R" series equipment. The Moogs are not responsible for this. If I purchase another brand in the future, it will only be the "problem solver" series. Using the Problem Solver series for the upper control arms and the R series for the lowers, I installed both control arms. The bottoms of both platforms refuse to accept grease even under extreme pressure, and the top control arms do so.
It did however require me to get different security hashes. This was to be used on a 1995 2 door Tahoe with unistrut torsion bars. The reason I got these was that after months of searching I discovered they no longer make them for my Tahoe. The only thing they make is the front suspension setup, but not the torsion bar, and these fit perfectly. It was however necessary for me to get different shocks, but that was no big deal.
My stock shock screw would not fit so I had to drill through the cylinder and then go to an auto store to find a smaller one that would fit, wasted a lot of time doing this, especially since this is a moog product.
