Shackles will not change the towing capabilities of a vehicle. If you've loaded the vehicle heavily, you might notice a slight sag at the rear. The use of a helper bag system may be very helpful if you tow heavy loads regularly.
It is not possible to fit the 2005 Tacoma with item number 6400.

Instead of buying a block kit, you just have to loosen up the 4U bolts after you have it back together and tap out the square blocks in the middle of the U-bolts. A bolt in between each leaf spring will cause it to drop another 3 inches. It has no effect on the ride, and it looks better with more dropped mines on 24 inch rims.
The cheaper version is not a good choice. Go with Belltech if you can afford to spend $7 more. It is very easy to install. There is no need to follow the instructions included. Place jack stands on both sides of the frame until the rear end is up. Jack up the front and the back of the trailer. The bottom shackle should be unbolted and the bolt should be removed. To remove the shackle, loosen the bolt of the shackle, then raise the spring so that it clears the frame. Remove the bolt and remove the shackle. The new one needs to be installed. In the end, I just had my wife lay down and lift the spring up with her foot until the new one was The installation of these makes a big difference from a visual standpoint for those who have never done it before. Cameras may not show the effect, but it definitely can be seen in person.
The truck is an 07, and is old and rusty due to its location in the north. It took me 12 hours to get out the old shackles. Air hammer, grinder, sawzall, and cutting torch are all power tools. It's clear that you cannot complete this installation if your truck has been exposed to road salt, or if you do not have the tools or the experience. Additionally, there is a seam right at the knuckle of the spring, and after it is lowered, it hits this seam and makes a horribly loud noise. It says bend it. I strongly advise you to bend it. Since I thought I was lucky, I had to bend in a way with an air hammer afterwards. It looks great and I love how it is stanced now. I'd recommend it to anyone.
I had a difficult time getting some of the bolts In addition, if you ease the jack slowly up or down, you'll find the sweet spot where the bolts will slide right out without any trouble. As long as you can adjust the jack slowly, you should be able to push the leafs up or down to get the shackle holes lined up again. They caused some damage to my truck, but overall it was not too bad. ordered new Bilstein shocks all around, as well as an extension for the rear shock, so I could lower it even further.
It took a while for me to install the wheels on a 2014 standard cab short bed Chevy Silverado 2 wheel drive. I'm a bit handy with a wrench, but nonetheless they were a bit of an inconvenience. For me, it was the process of removing and replacing the top bolt that was the most difficult. To get the leaf spring out, I had to set a 2x4 upright on a floor jack in order to lift the spring's top. Getting the frame cleared was a challenge. As a result, I literally dented the bottom of my bed to get it high enough for the bolt to come out and be replaced (dent in bed not visible unless you crawl under). If OSHA had seen what I was doing, they would have arrested me. As for the truck itself, I believe it looks better - the back end is lowered 2 inches as it said it would, just as it promised. The outcome is very good for me. In my opinion, the construction of these is superior to that of the stock ones.
This is an easy to install product. I found it to be perfect for my application. It states that the lift can be lowered from one to three inches. I selected the 3" hole size, but it only lowered my truck 1" for me.
The system has been installed on a 2002 Chevy Silverado Extended Cab 2WD. I dropped the rear end about 2" as specified. I thought it was well built. The shackles were easy to install, and fitted perfectly. While there are cheaper ones out there, suspension is a very important part of riding a bicycle and can pose a huge safety risk.
The shackles I received appear to have been previously installed, even if they were used only briefly before being discarded. I will probably install them nonetheless and update my 2 star review once I get my hands on them. A reconditioned product isn't my favorite, but I don't mind paying full price for it.
