This is used to space and center yj, tj, and an hubs on wj knuckle conversions. It is not required for a wj hub.
Not the bolts, but the fit on the unit bearing where it slides into the knuckle is what carries the vehicle's load. The fit barely goes into the knuckle with the spacer in place, leaving the bolts to support the load. If you weld the spacer to the knuckle, they become one piece and the load is carried by the spacer rather than the bolts.
I don't believe so; it's usually used to space the bearings out so that the ujoints line up in line with the ball joints and don't bind, so it shouldn't be necessary in 2wd only.
This listing is for one spacer; to complete the wj knuckle swap, you'll need to order two.

On". Many other reviewers appear to think the same way. If you're going to sell it as "Weld-On," you'll want to make it look as professional as possible. "DO NOT SELL IT PAINTED!" says the ad. br>It does the job, but I don't think it's necessary to remove the paint.
It's great that the WJ knuckle can be modified to fit other Jeep models.
That would be nice if they were only used as spacers, but they are even recommended as weld on on their website.
These were power coated to prevent rust, and I had to remove it before welding them to the knuckles. In order for the bearings to seat properly, the inner diameter had to be shaved as well; it wasn't much, but it had to be done. All of this is, in my opinion, standard procedure in any manufacturing facility. I'm very pleased.
I was surprised at how much grinding I had to do to get the unit hub to fit within the inner diameter. I understand that nothing is going to be perfect from the start, but I figured a machine shop like JKS would have much tighter tolerances because they're making this to mate with something very specific. It slipped on nicely and tightly after some massaging.
These are powdercoated, as others have mentioned. Injuries to the - to be removed in order for these to be welded on They did, however, complete the task at hand. Conversion of WJ knuckles to XJ D30.
Perfect fit for my XJ knuckle swap from a WJ. Iron Rock Offroad dual drilled WJ rotors, 2001 TJ unit bearings, and WJ balljoints were used in this project. Everything fit together perfectly, as if it had been assembled in the factory.
road . Despite the fact that they are labeled WELD-, these come painted. Spacers are used. I had to grind them down to bare metal for ten minutes. I strongly advise you to try a spacer from a different manufacturer (iron rock off-road). Because the JKS's significant overhang made one edge difficult to weld, I'd like to make one that's bare metal and cut to fit the contour for the knuckle edge.
