Questions & Answers

Can it be used on a 2000 Camaro Z28?

As long as you have a 5, this should be a good match. LS1 engine with a 7 liter displacement.

I'm wondering if it will ?

I have put it in my own

The 6 fits well in this. Could there be a block of two 2014 corvettes?

I would make sure the vehicle fitment field was filled out for your car, though

Does this part take care of both sensors, or is there no image for this part?

If you are going to replace the sensors during the repair, I would recommend getting two and replacing them both as well as the wires

The sensor came with the Acdelco engine knock sensors
5/5

This product is genuine GM. Initially I was skeptical since no mention of Acdelco was included in the description, and I didn't want to tear apart my motor twice, but I was pleased to see GM labeling all over the You can see the images here. A week ago I bought it, not early/mid May, and have had no While you have the intake up, make sure you clean everything properly, and wrap the holes in high temperature silicone. If you're having trouble with your knock sensors, you can search YouTube for replacement instructions. Taking longer than it sounds to do a good job, but it is easier than it seems.

The part I installed on my '04 Suburban, once I did a test drive had fault codes for both banks 1, and 2, when before I only had the fault for the second bank
3/5

This was done at the same time as I replaced both knock sensors. Having said that, I have tested everything and everything seemed to be in order. Upon further inspection of the cable, I discovered it is of different gauge than the cable Afterward, I went to the GM dealer and picked up another one, reassembled the car and installed the GM cable and no further trouble has arisen. My life was wasted by 8 hours when only 4 hours should have been spent on it.

Authentic replacement part that is guaranteed to work
5/5

I had a knock sensor fail (known issue) on my 2002 Chevrolet Suburban and this part from GM fit perfectly. In addition to replacing everything while it was apart, I also replaced the wiring harness. Wiring harnesses sit in an area that is extremely hot and, by this time, they've been around for 20 years. The clips on the old harness broke when I removed them from the knock sensor, as I had expected. A replacement was readily available for me, and I was very glad about that. Intake manifolds are accessible only by removing them, so you must remove the manifolds to get to the wiring harness. Having to replace everything you need to replace while the machine is apart is not something you want to be doing over and over again. I also replaced the oil pressure sending unit and the valley pan gasket (which was leaking) while I made things accessible. I think the genuine GM part will last a lot longer than the Dorman-like alternative. It is not uncommon to find videos and chats about making this repair on the Internet. The project is of medium difficulty for someone who wants to do it on their own. There is nothing old about the top end of the engine). It is also necessary to obtain new intake gaskets to ensure a good seal. You will also need to know what the torque specifications are.

Buying is a bad idea
3/5

it it's not original, it's not working. Go to a dealer and spend $30 more so you can get a good one but not being cheap will cost you more because if it breaks you'll have to pay someone else to fix it. The $200 you have to throw away will do you no harm. The process of taking it off took me a while because I did not have the money to pay for it. It cost me $400 to install it and to remove it, and to buy a new one.

It is a must to replace your knock sensors when you change them
5/5

Ensure that your knock sensors are replaced along with the wiring harness. When an original harness becomes hard and brittle over time, it is possible for water to enter the knock sensor wells, which then shorts out the sensor. As a result, the original harness is damaged over time. Additionally, an attempt to disconnect them from the knock sensors will probably cause the old brittle connectors to break. It seems like there are some guys building a dam with silicone on the valley cover to try and divert water away from the New boots that fit snugly and tightly provide an effective seal in the wells, so this is not necessary with a new harness.

The original part was supplied by General Motors
5/5

After reading a few reviews on this site, I was skeptical about purchasing. The original harness has been confirmed by the GMC dealership and the part number they have is #12601822, which is the same as this harness. After asking a few further questions, it turns out that GM and AC Delco are the same manufacturer. Harnesses are available for purchase at the dealership for As of last summer, Amazon still had the lowest price for the original part. After installing it, the check engine light stopped going on and has not come.

In comparison to aftermarket, these parts are 2 to 3 times more expensive but far superior in A pair of these and the factory wiring harness were installed
5/5

There was an issue with my intake and antifreeze leaking through the harness plug and shorting one of the knock sensors. This is a very Although the Dorman harness is ok, a lot of aftermarket sensors are inferior in quality and lighter. Gasket kits, such as the heavy duty extra thick ones offered by Felpro, are well worth the money.

The 2002 Silverado 4 will fit this part
5/5

The one on my 2002 Silverado 4 is just like the old one. I am replacing an older lift as it still has some lift left, but I don't want to experience any future problems. In most cases, it is best to swap out all the components when replacing the intake manifold. So far, there have been no issues for four months.
