Originally, this knock sensor was only installed on older models, and it has been replaced by a more sensitive one sometime during the mid- to late 90's. Is perfectly sized and works well. It is for this reason that I only I had the old one for 113,000 miles and it was still in good shape. There was a mistake in routing the wire, which was frayed, and was grounding out. I was able to fix it, thank goodness. There are knock sensors on Amazon, too, and they are substantially less expensive than knock sensors. Ensure that your O2 sensor is working as well if you have a high mileage.
