It's where the driver's side fog lamp should be (in the plastic insert - on my 2011 Cruze). (Very noticeable).
This sensor does not send data to any of the passenger compartment's air temperature displays. It's mounted near the edge of the AC condenser, just behind the passenger side turn signal lens assembly on, e.g., e.g., e.g., e.g., e.g., e.g., e.g., e.g., e.g., e.g., e.g., e.g., e.g., , the 2001 Suburban, and most likely others. A different sensor, located on the opposite side of the condenser/radiator combo (driver side), near the smaller transmission and oil coolers, sends air temperature information to displays found on electronic rear view mirrors and the like. You received/installed the incorrect sensor if you used it in the latter location. The one you're looking for is e. 25775833, AC Delco Check with AC Delco to see if the sensor is compatible with your specific model/accessory package and what it's for.
It's in the same spot on a 2003 as it is on mine, which is a 2001. At the bottom left corner of the AC condenser, behind the passenger-side turn signal/driving light assembly. To get to it, you'll need to take off the grill and the lens assembly. This sensor sends information about the ambient air temperature to the dash's electronic/computerized HVAC controls. On the other (driver) side of the condenser/radiator combo, there's a similar sensor that sends ambient air temperature information to, e. , a rear-view mirror with a compass and a temperature display. It is not possible to swap the two sensors. Their connector sockets are set up in a unique way.
I'd contact a Chevrolet dealership. They may be able to provide you with the appropriate part number. Also, they may have an old, used one on hand and will give it to you. Free fasteners have been given to me in the past. Typically, it comes from the technicians.
Selected User Reviews For ACDelco GM Original Equipment 15-50353 Ambient Air Outside Temperature Sensor
On my 2004 Silverado extended cab, I used this to replace the old climate control sensor. This sensor is hidden behind and below the passenger-side headlight assembly (it's hidden behind a radiator shroud deflector). This isn't the sensor in the rearview mirror that measures ambient temperature. If your vehicle is equipped with one, it'll be on the radiator support beneath the transmission cooler, and it'll be grey if it's OEM. This one sends data about the outside temperature to the dash's HVAC unit.
The air- My 2000 GMC Yukon's air conditioner was only occasionally working. The problem appears to be caused by two (2) sensors, one inside and behind the dash (very difficult to access) and the other under the hood below the passenger-side wheel. (Easy access to side headlight) I replace the easy-to-reach sensor with this replacement, hoping for the best, and my air-conditioning system works as it should. The air conditioner is on full blast. time and time again This sensor has been thoroughly tested. made and is available for purchase at a very low cost.
The original Saab part is the same as this one-- one of the few benefits of GM's takeover and eventual death of the brand. br>br>Bought to fix an issue where the outside temperature was reading 125F or -125F. In most cases, I would not have been concerned about this in the winter because who wants to sleep under a car in the dead of winter? However, in this case, it's not just the display that's being driven. It's also used as a factor in deciding whether to use heat or air conditioning by the automatic climate control. The inside of the car gets cold when it's 15 degrees outside but the controller thinks it's 125 degrees inside! The problem had to be fixed.
On a 2001 Suburban 1500, I replaced both OE ambient air sensors (this one sends ambient air information to electronic HVAC controls, and the second one sends ambient air information to the electronic temp display in the rear view mirror). This one was identical to the original, and both the electrical connector and the mounting bracket/hole were in the correct places.
All genuine AC Delco products are packaged and labeled with the item number. I was very disappointed because I had waited a week for it and it was obviously a fake product.
This is a perfect match. I'm not sure if it fixed anything. I used to replace the sensor that was located to the right of the passenger turn signal assembly. It took about 5 minutes to complete.
I was able to get to this part thanks to a YouTube video, which I believe was about fog lamps (which I don't have) and which made the replacement a breeze. I am confident that doing it myself saved me at least $100.
It does exactly what it says. The item was delivered in the same condition that it was described. This is an OEM part that takes about ten minutes to install. It will take 15 minutes. Installing the part takes less than a minute.
