Selected User Reviews For Motorcraft DY984 Sensor Assembly
As of posting this review, the image of the product is incorrect; however, it is a Motorcraft part with the correct part number for the IAT sensor on a 6. 0L Powerstroke is a gasoline engine with a displacement of zero liters My truck was showing P0401, which means there isn't enough EGR flow, and the old part was caked in carbon. Original part was cleaned, but for $20, you can't go wrong with an OEM part; code is still present, but we now know it's not the IAT2 sensor.
The item arrived in good condition and appears to be original. In my 2006 6, I'm always looking for OEM parts. 0 horsepower. The original was filthy, and I suspected it was causing the CEL and performance issues, so I cleaned it with carb cleaner and kept it as a backup in case this one fails. I replaced the old part with the new one, and everything is working fine so far.
The code was fixed, and it hasn't given me any problems since. The original sensor was a pain to remove and was discovered to be clogged with carbon.
Good.
It does what it says. Before you order, make sure your sensor is plugged in.
The fact that I didn't need this part as described wasn't a problem for me.
I worked on my 2006 Ford F-250 pickup truck.
