Questions & Answers

Can a 1993 Jeep Cherokee (4dr) be used with this?

Any vehicle should be able to use this kit. It is up to you to bend the fabric however you want so that it fits in. The kit is universal, but there are only two motors in it. The maximum number of motors required is 4 if you wish to modify all four

Which are the dimensions of the buttons on the control panel? Bezel dimensions in terms of their overall size. ?

The dimensions are 2 inches by 1 inch.

Would you mind telling me the difference between this and the other kit that resembles a lollipop (with one stem connecting the motor to the Are you ready?

Having installed both types, I have a choice. It is the same design for both. There is just one difference between them, and that the toothed, nylon belt connecting the motor to the window crank cog is enclosed inside. The kit has a separate tube for the belt's outgoing and returning. The lollipop kit combines the belt's outgoing and returning into one container. There is a small risk of this one being a bit more difficult to install because you need to support the tubes independently, however, this could be an advantage for tighter spaces since each tube is smaller and can take a slightly different path As far as switches go, I like those with the "lollipop" style. In the past six years, I have had very little trouble with the "lollipop." I have had the "lollipop" in use for over six years with no problems. After opening up my door panels one more time, some silicone lubricant has been applied to the moving parts. It WOULD benefit the passenger window if we ran heavier gauge wire. Because the wires are long, I sometimes wonder whether the passenger window will open, but it never fails to do so.

What is the water resistance/resistance of this?

Water is not a problem for it, but any type of moisture can cause it As long as you install it properly, you should not have any problems. Almost all of the system's components are self contained, and the only "exposed" parts are the connectors, which are covered with a retractable In any case, I covered the connectors with electrical tape just to be safe. I've found that it works flawlessly on my 2000 K3500.

It took about six hours to install the conversion kit for the first time
3/5

About 6 hours were needed to install it, but it was well A universal kit such as this is hard to find. Do not question whether or not it will work on your car, trust me, Instructions specify exactly which gear to use for your vehicle and give you a choice of several. The power windows are a little slow to go up, but when they go down they operate just like a factory power window. It went great because I made sure the kits were mounted securely. This was my first conversion kit installation, so please take caution. Added an edit Approximately a month down the road, the gears are out of alignment. *Update*- Every time I roll the window up, a brief grinding sound comes from the driver's side. If I release and press the button again, the window goes up properly. There is no longer a passenger side window that goes up on its own. To work, I press and hold the button while physically pushing it up. My manual windows are starting to become a nuisance, to be honest.

My computer worked for only a few days before it stopped
3/5

I had it working for a couple of days, until one of the blue parts attached to the knob for rolling up and down came out and I lost it. Since there are only two blue parts, it is impossible for one of my windows to operate. In addition, the thing covering the hole came off as well. It is a strong motor, but there is nothing you can do with a powerful motor that cannot roll off one of my windows.

It will be helpful to have previous experience

The installation of this kit on my 1998 Ford cargo van took me a little under 3 hours. I had previously removed the dash and door panels, so I knew what to expect. After reading the "instructions" for a few minutes, I realized they were mostly useless, except for the part where they warn you not to twist or kink the cable A mention of the wiring was completely missing from the instructions. gained more information from examining the real parts than I did from reading It should not be too difficult to do if you have a mechanical aptitude and are familiar with automotive wiring. Trying to get the caps to fit correctly over the holes where the window crank used to be was the most frustrating part of the project for me. The kit itself is simple to install and can be done with just Depending on the vehicle, you'll have to remove the door panels and the dash panels. Large motors are used in these motors. You'll also find that the control buttons and mounting pods are large. If you examine the picture of all the parts on the website, the five black discs on the molding tree measured about 1 3/4" in diameter everything else is scaled similarly. Before ordering, I would check inside the door to make sure there is room for the box. There are no obvious problems with them. Approximately 3 seconds up or down on the driver's side, and approximately 4 seconds on the passenger's side. (I am speculating that there could be some voltage drop on the passenger side since the long wires are to the passenger side. The problem is fixable if they are replaced with heavier gauge wire, but it isn't serious enough to be a problem). In this circuit, a cigarette lighter circuit was used as a power source since it is a high amp circuit. The ignition relay has to be hooked to the relay, so I'll have to put it in. It wasn't until nighttime that I realized the buttons were lit, because there was no mention of the wiring in the instructions. As the lights are wired to a 12V constant source, they are on all the time. A review stated that the templates for the switch pods are backwards, so you need to take care They are a lot better than manual windows, especially for the price. This is a note from the 16th of December 2012 The original window crank holes are still covered by caps. One of the caps fell off shortly after the installation was completed. Another kit was installed on a different van and the caps were glued on this time - the caps have remained in place for over a year now. In addition, I never got around to installing a relay, so this kit has constant power over its entire life (which is nice since you don't have to turn on the key It has been over a week since I turned off the van, and I have not encountered any dead batteries. In my case, I have a 1000 cranking amp battery. If you have a smaller battery, or extra drains, such as a phone charger, GPS, etc. , it may.

The converter kit is very well made and comes with everything you need to convert it to your own vehicle however, you will have to modify how you mount it to your own model

If you want to learn how to wire mechanical and electrical systems, you should get some hands-on The project took my dad 2 days to complete about 4 hours in total because he wanted it to fit perfectly I was not in a hurry to complete it in 5 hours a day. My only option is to make sure your switches and motors are checked every step of the way, so that once installed in his 1993 Toyota truck, it looks like it was installed by the manufacturer. In addition, the speed is about four times as fast I was able to get it up or down in just 6 seconds, going up took just a little longer, and driving on the right side took my time, but this is normal for My 2005 Hyundai Sonata is in near perfect condition, and I'm pretty sure his windows are pretty close to the same speed as those, but my 2012 Frontier is faster than both of those. Nonetheless, if you have the time and patience you may want to consider buying the kit. However, do not rely on the instructions as they are pretty useless except.

It took me less than four hours to install these. If I had done this before, it would have been quicker, but it was the first time installing them, so it took a long time. After installing them on my 95 Ford F150 reg Cab pickup, I discovered that they go pretty fast for aftermarkets and are smooth as well. The following are just a couple of tips you might want to know when you All your gears, motor, and everything must be set BEFORE any holes can be drilled! It helps to make your job so much easier. The kit comes with 2 silver key rings that connect instead of overlapping (like a key chain) these are designed to prevent the blue gears for the motor from losing their grip over the end of the cable. It's helpful if the motor breaks or anything because the black handle fits over the blue gear in an emergency (rain, snow) The switch's are a bit difficult ,If such thick panels you will have to put some force on it to get it into the door panel. It's always best to roll up your windows when you do this (I did for my car). You should go a different direction than what the instructions say because when you drill your holes, you'll have no chance of breaking or starching your window. I'll post pics if people are interested in seeing how the door looks after the handy work is done.

I like the product, but the instructions are bad
4/5

Please allow me to repeat myself. An installation guide for a Chinese product is poorly written. It's half of the parts I don't know what it is made for or how to use it. Fortunately, those parts aren't as crucial as others. I think overall, this switch kit is well worth the money, for the price that comes with it. I have a 2012 Nissan Frontier with a door bezel that is a bit wide for the double switches. All the software has been installed. As far as I can tell, it was working properly, and the window rolled pretty fast. It is possible that my car window was lite.
They did not explain what those circular rings with outer teeth were actually This is used to secure the cover over the mechanical windows opening.
