This was purchased to address the issue of a sagging window - the telltale sign of a snagged cable I replaced the broken assembly with this new one, and everything is working fine now, and I am relieved that I was able to save some money. It's not a difficult job, but there are no instructions, so thanks to the generous YT community for sharing their tips. in relation to video.
Youtube installed a good replacement!.
It's fantastic.
In my 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP, I installed this part in the rear driver's side door. The track appears to be sturdy enough, and it was simple to install. The new motor is much smaller and less powerful than the old one. The working original motor I had would not fit into the new track motor mounts, so I couldn't use it. The electrical connector was also mounted stationary beneath the motor in the original assembly. A four-inch pigtail wire and connector assembly was included in the new assembly. The car harness connects to this pigtail, but it must be secured to the motor with cable ties to avoid becoming snagged on the window track as it lowers. In the photos, you can see how I secured it. It struggled a little going up because the motor was a little weaker. To assist the motor in closing the window, I needed to reduce the window friction drag. To reduce drag, I lubricated the side window slides. I added lithium grease to the new regulator track because it did not come with any slide lubrication. The window appears to be in good working order at this time. I'll have to keep an eye on it so I can lubricate it if it starts to run slowly. In the end, it's a good solution.
