This USB module was installed in my 2016 Ford F150 to enable Apple CarPlay, and it was incredibly simple to set up, just plug and play! br>It's now possible for me to use Apple CarPlay! I've been using this product for about a month and a half and have had no problems with it.

To add carplay, you'll need an additional $150. After I installed it, it worked perfectly. When removing the plugs from the factory one, be very careful because one of them has very small wires that are easy to pull out of the plug. Don't ask me how I know this, and I'm not going to tell you how a 5-year-old can figure it out. A quick job turned into a couple of hours of squishing into cramped spaces and using language that Jesus would frown upon. However, everything worked out in the end, and I now enjoy having carplay.

We recently traded in a short 2017 Expedition for a longer 2016 Expedition with sync 3, only to discover that it did not support Apple CarPlay. Following an update and the replacement of this USB port, I now have access to all of the features found on the 17. Sync has become less glitchy when trying to connect to Bluetooth and other features thanks to the addition of Apple CarPlay.

This was purchased for a 2016 Ford F150 Platinum and is in excellent condition. Notes: br>
1. It is not an OEM part, but it functions well and comes with a warranty.
2. It's a little tricky to set up. The compartment forward of the gear shift knob houses my USB module ports. Working in such a small area is difficult. I discovered that the best way to get rid of the old one is to start on the side with the most room, which in my case was the left, and pry the old one UP and out with a medium-sized flat head screwdriver. It does, however, necessitate a certain amount of force. To avoid marring the screwdriver (not the very tip) and the panel that the ports module fits into, you might want to use some masking tape. You can wiggle the rest of the module out once one side has been removed. Check that the connections on the back of the new one match the connections on the old one once you've taken it out and unplugged it (there are some clips to disconnect the plugs). Check that Apple Car Play works after you've connected it and before reseating it in the panel. I hope this has been of assistance.

Thank you very much! It's for my 2016 Ford F150, and I've placed an order for it. I've updated the SYNC3 software to make it compatible with Apple CarPlay. Remove the old one for about 10 minutes. It just takes a little patience to keep the scratch on the board to a minimum, as it is quite tight. The new USB device is fantastic! It's an excellent item!.

This item was purchased for a 2016 Ford Expedition. I updated the factory radio with the new Sync 3 software so that I could use Apple CarPlay from my iPhone, but it didn't work with the factory USB ports. This item was recommended as a replacement based on research. The Expedition's removal was difficult. I had to partially disassemble the console in order to get the original piece's tabs to lift and remove. This was due to my fear of scratching it or worse. Maybe not necessary, but after fiddling with it for 30 minutes or more, this seemed like the best option, and switching it out took less than a minute once it was made free. The iPhone recognized itself as soon as it was plugged in. The replacement part is identical in appearance and construction quality to the one that was replaced. It made me very happy.

I didn't have to change the settings on my radio. According to the description, you'll need three. For it to work, it must be version 02 or higher. Which is incorrect, because I only have three. On my radio, I simply plugged it in and it worked flawlessly. My radio recognized that my phone was plugged in as soon as I started my truck, and it switched to CarPlay mode. The only criticism I have is that getting the USB port to pop out in these trucks was a pain in the buttocks, but other than that, the installation was a breeze. It does the job.
