Changing from one to the other is easy, and what a difference it makes. It's a nice change from the yellowish incandescent lighting to the whiter, bluer light. In the event of a failure, will post an update. There were 4 bulbs in this kit, so I was able to replace the dome light and the two lights on the tailgate, and I was left with one extra bulb as a backup. Pictures are included to illustrate the before and after. Pictures do not do them justice as they are much brighter in person.

I expect the light output to be as predicted. Although no failures have been reported at the initial installation, it is impossible to judge the reliability after such a short period of time. It was because of the angle of the end caps that one star was taken off. LEDs from this generation do not have as pointy tips as Toyota's sockets from 1999, so the tips didn't fit as well in the sockets.

Also, the bulbs are way whiter than they used to be so that's another Since I opened the door of my vehicle during the night, now I can see the interior of the vehicle. On the whole, I think the lighting has improved quite a bit. As soon as I find out whether longevity is an issue, I will update.

There are very few other differences as far as current draw goes, as these only draw 165 milliamps, while halogens draw almost 800 milliamps

Almost 5 times as much light is emitted while they use a fraction of the current. The product is great. I used these to make keyboard lights with an old 12 volt wall wart and extra bulbs.

The best bulb I've ever seen. There are festoon type bulbs installed over the over head interior lights of an older vehicle that I own. I am so happy with these they work perfect and they are super bright. As a result of the heat sink on the back of this bulb, its size is much larger than stock bulbs. Be aware of what's going on. Now that my eyes are working properly, I could not be happier.
