Does this work if you bolt it to an open header?

You should be able to use this provided your headers contain a 3 The bolt flange is centered on the bolt A dimension of 3 inches should be used for the center. A gap will exist between these flanges, so there will not be a gasket, and the seal will be metal to metal between the existing flange and the flared end of the 45 Degree piece of this kit (the flange and turn down component are two separate pieces). Despite the fact that it will not be a perfect seal, since it is right along the exhaust outlet, leaks will be minimal.

What does this part do for the exhaust cutouts for the 2006 ?

No matter what kind of exhaust system you use or what brand, these are needed in any application that would require you to angle or turn the exhaust gases down, upward, or away from something that would get damaged by the high temperature exhaust gases.

Can this be cut out to fit another brand of ?

A standard flange is pretty certain to exist.

It is nice that you can turn the flange and adjust it in any direction. Not sure if a gasket is needed, however, the way the flange is set up but says it sounds good and looks great.

It is hard to refuse

It was welded on to the straight portion of the tube at a bit of an upward angle, which left the "turn down" hardly turning down. Returning it is on the fence for me. Although QTP can be hit or miss in terms of quality, I enjoy using the program.
