Questions & Answers

A second crack has appeared in my cue screen. Is it easy for the owner to replace it?

As far as repairs go, I would classify this as moderately complex. In theory, you should be able to handle it if you have some skills. Just a screwdriver and socket are needed, no special tools are needed. As there are many screws, you have to make sure you have a large clean work space. It is very helpful to find YouTube videos demonstrating how to replace the screen.

I have cracked my screen and it won't work any more nothing works when I touch it. Will this screen fix my problem?

It is a yes if your problem is a cracked screen or if your screen isn't responding. Although this will be more affordable than buying a new unit, the process of removing and replacing the screen can be a bit challenging. You can review how to do this on YouTube.

Has it been approved by an OEM?

While I'm not sure whether it is OEM qualified, I had it installed over 4 months ago and it has been working fine. It is the manufacturer's responsibility to describe how the OEM meets its requirements. As far as I am concerned, it's

The proximity sensor does not work after I installed it today, is anyone else experiencing the same issue? All other elements on the screen work without a hitch. ?

No, my replacement proximity sensor does not work. However, I found an interesting answer on the Cadillac forum about this feature. There is an assertion that CUE has a more 'clean look', but when you move your hand close to the screen, it opens up the controls. A 'Proximity Sensor' seems sophisticated until it is used in a car and you realize what a foolish idea it There are far fewer considerations for 'substance' and use as there are for 'form' I am friendlier. I like the 'cleaner It is not just that the driver doesn't admire a nice and clean screen, it is that he doesn't look at it at all. There is always some glance at the screen while the driver is driving. at the screen and the controls are not visible, it's something to be worried about, not something to be pleased about. In Cadillac's view, the control interface should consist of Please note *br* In admiration of the clean interface on the screen, the driver looks over to the mouse. When the driver slowly moves their hand close to the screen (while still watching the screen, not the road), their hands should be near the screen. After that, the driver analyzes the newly displayed controls (while still looking at the screen and not at the Here we are, ten years later Within 20 seconds of watching the video and admiring the animations, the driver snapped his finger to the right. The 'designer/architect/engineer' behind this system probably has not driven a car, but he/she played video games all the time.

This is an easy fix
5/5

My 2014 ATS had a screen that was leaking spider webs. After driving for about 3 days, I decided to purchase a replacement screen to resolve the problem. I was able to fix it so easily. According to dealerships, this vehicle is priced between $1,600 and $1,800 What the heck are you talking about. 45 minutes was all it took for me. The cup holders should be removed, the side trip pieces separated, the grill removed, and the 6 screws that hold the entire system in, then the three cables behind that system should be removed. The system was taken home and a series of screws were removed, followed by all the screws for the Bring everything together. Do not forget to perform a touch screen calibration after you finish. It is all going well. If you want to pull out the que system, you'll need to put the car into gear so you have clearance to move.

The method looks good to me, and it seems to work well
5/5

This is a 2013 Cadillac XTS that I purchased from a certified pre-owned dealer Early last year, I owned this property. It took just a few weeks for the original screen to fail and show the familiar spiderweb. In this case, the automobile was still under warranty, so it was replaced for free by a local Cadillac dealer. The design fix was done around May 2017, so it was before the 2018 update. The screen failed again in June 2020, as I knew it would someday. Therefore, the original screen as well as the warranty replacement screen lasted for around three years each. Considering that the car is no longer covered by warranty, I decided to fix it myself this time. I looked at various alternatives, including CueScreens, which are more expensive. This one caught my attention so I gave it a try. My disappointment is not as great as I expected. I will post some photos showing the before and after, and comparing the failed part to what I have now. The proximity sensors are working perfectly as you can see in the picture. There is pretty much no difference between the factory unit and the one I have. As I haven't seen one of CueScreens' products in person, the glare is the only thing that caused me pause. Perhaps CueScreens' products have less glare than the factory unit, which would be a welcome change. However, this product is not a glare monster as some would have you believe. The instructions on disassembly I used came from the YouTube videos provided by CueScreens. This is a pretty good show. Regarding removing and replacing the gear shift surround and cup holders, I would have one suggestion. It is simply a matter of pulling it back and forth in order to replace the screen once you have removed the two rear screws. It is possible to do it this way, but it requires a great deal of force and getting it back in the same way is virtually The rubber liner at the bottom of the cup holders should be removed instead. In that place, there is a screw. It should be removed. Carry out the steps as shown in CueScreens' videos. Using this method, it is 100x easier to reinstall this part. The screw can be reinstalled by just popping it back in. By doing this, you will save yourself several minutes and ensure that you do not damage The last tool I purchased was a trim removal tool kit with about eight different tools. There was no use for the whole kit. I only used one tool out of it. There is no need for 8 trim removers, but one good one will do. A 7mm hex nut (I used my socket set with extension) as well as a #1 Phillips and a #2 Phillips screwdriver are all you need. You've got your work cut out for you! Good.

The prayers of the people have been answered! I have a long story to tell
5/5

In the market for a new vehicle, but I haven't been able to find the one I want. I traded in my 2013 ATS but the cue system didn't work, so I had to move fast. A dealer friend found one, so I had to act quickly. It was acting erratically with ghost touches, no response to touch, and could not connect to the radio or Bluetooth. They were asking for $2700 on the phone. In response to my question, they said it would cost $1900 just for parts to replace the entire CUE. It was mentioned that this particular screen may be the issue, so I said what the hell, under $50 I'll give it a forward again to now, when the dealer looks at my car for the first time and says "I'm impressed!". In every Cadillac we have gotten so far this year, the electronics don't It feels good to drive my brand-new truck home! Getting the system installed took me no more than 2 hours (although I was accustomed to building computers). It requires only a screwdriver, socket and trim tool (a 10mm socket is necessary). Worked on a car or on the electronics of a car to this extent with no previous experience. The screen worked just as well as the OEM when it was first installed. I have been able to save a lot of time and money with this product.

Exactly what I was looking for
5/5

If you've ever worked with Lego Technic sets, this set is easy to assemble. The levels of difficulty are about the same. In just over an hour and a half after receiving it, I was able to install and test *With that being said, there are some issues with it as well. This unit appears out of whack, with the colour of the black border not matching that of the unit, and the chrome trim not matching the unit. As for the chrome on the old unit, I decided to take it off and place it over the new unit.

If these very small things are bothering you, then go to the dealer and pay a lot more. This is a great thing if you are ok with it that way.

This application is not responsive after installation
3/5

There were some issues after installation due to incompatibility. After pulling the screen out again, everything looked okay, but I reinstalled it and the screen was still unresponsive. This is my third time installing gong cue screens, all on different Cadillacs, but it was the first time the new screen was unresponsive after installation.

After two years, it is still working! As if an invisible hand were constantly pushing random menu items on my CTS screen, I felt phantom clicks on my screen
5/5

I noticed that my stereo was changing modes and my climate control was changing all by itself. There was nothing that could be done about it. Thankfully, after one complicated surgery, I was able to put the replacement encoder in and things were Now that it's been installed for two years, it's still working! Although I was able to swap the encoder as someone with an extremely high level of skill and knowledge, no one without an electronic background should attempt this.

The Cadillac Cue is equipped with a touch screen
5/5

I found this program to be very useful, and it solved the issue the dealership wanted over a thousand dollars to diagnose and I received the product as described and it was shipped quickly. After all this said, the installation of this product is a bit challenging. You can find a lot of instructional videos on the internet to help you, but it takes more than 10 minutes. Although technically savvy, it took me all of 90 minutes to replace it, but I am very meticulous when it comes to putting things back together so I didn't want to break any of the trim and dash parts when I took it apart. It really is a great product with a great value, I saved hundreds of dollars by using this product This needs fixing.

Worked like a charm
5/5

As of now, 3 months later, things are still going well. The radio was very easy to take apart and disassemble, but the screen alignment dowels were a little The installation of such a device is undoubtedly not suitable for beginners, but any competent repair shop should be able to do For accuracy and sensitivity, touch screen quality is superior to the original.
